I have a question, though; Was that him in the scene on First Beach in Twilight?
Because if it was, that would be weird!! He should have been with Quil and Embry!!

Lola, He did play in the first movie. When Bella met Jacob at the beach. I read an article on him here actually, I think sometime a week to two about him playing the role. And what he thinks about playing Sam Uley. He was in the book. When Bella question Jacob, ” Who was that other boy Lauren was talking to?” Then Jacob reply was, “That’s Sam-he’s nineteen.” So it was him in the book down at La Push. Page 121-123. LOL
i could see him as sam, in a way. idk why he was there at first beach in the movie?? they werent friends as lola pointed out but who nos!!
