Honey, if you don’t care that he’s not really popular, then screw what everyone else thinks. He might actually like you back, despite his stupid friends, because of what I know of you right now, I think you’re an amazing person.
It’s probably going to be uncomfortable for a while if he doesn’t like you back, but let it go, because then things will be cleared up between you two and it might eventually work out, and be less awkward.
