BOTH ! omg im sorry everyone but i have a special bond with the people of HP and the people of Twilight and i cannot pik between the two….its like picking a new sister over a long lost one……OME dont judge me please…but HP and TL 4ever
I think ?twilight? is BETTER than harry potter…
of course…
but i musst say harry potter is not as bad as many people think….
AND both characters are good.
I love vampires at all but the story of harry potter is good, too…
Harry Potter and Twilight are both amazing! i cnt decide i like the twilight books betta but the hp films are betta!! i love themm both but Twilight characters are hotter !! =P =D
I love both but Twilight is some of the best work since Harry Potter. Not to mention Edward Cullen was in Harry Potter. He played Cedric Diggery in the 4th Harry Potter movie.
ok, so i really love HP….but ever since i read twilight i fell in love with edward!! i think think they both have amazing story lines, but twilight is more of a love story and HP is more friendship.
and i do agree that twilight has great cast members!!
To the person that said there are no Werewolves in Harry Potter, get your facts straight.
Harry Potter will always rule over Twilight. And for supposed twilighters who USED to be an HP fan. That just goes to show that you only go with the fads. Because the real truth is, Twilight is just that. A big, overblown FAD.
HP was a phenomenon that will last like other great fandoms. Twilight will dissipate the moment they stop making movies.
I’ve read both multiple times and here is what I have to say:
Twilight: Romance
Harry Potter: Action
They are NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT similar! If you read the books they have NOTHING in common!!! It makes no sense to compare them. I personally like Twilight, but I don’t think it’s as great as everyone thinks. If I want to read a good vampire book, I’d rather read an Anne Rice novel.
Also, Sammi Lautner, Harry Potter DOES have werewolves.
AND this poll, or whatever this is, isn’t entirely fair because this is a TWILIGHT WEBSITE dedicated for people who are Twilight fans, so most people here are going to pick Twilight.
What annoys me most is that people who have never even read the first sentence of Harry Potter are saying how much better Twilight is. Once they’ve read all seven Harry Potter books and seen all six movies, then you can compare them, but until then, don’t judge when you have no idea what you’re talking about. And people seem to forget that Robert Pattinson, their beloved Edward Cullen was in Harry Potter as Cedric Diggory before anyone knew what Twilight even was. Harry Potter was is shot to stardom, and nobody would know anything about him if not for Harry Potter. I’ve read Twilight, and I did like the books. But i re-read everything, and Twilight was really boring the second time around, whereas my Harry Potter books are in shreds because of the amount of times I’ve re-read them. Harry Potter (the character) actaully has flaws, which makes him more believable, whereas Edward Cullen’s only flaw is that he is completely one dimensional. Even while reading the Twilight books for the first I found I liked Jacob a lot better because he had a personality, which is more than you can say for Edward and Bella. I’m also a feminist, and Bella’s character really irriated the crap out of me. Has she no self respect? Basically all of Eclipse she felt so sorry for herself because she had two incredibly hot guys madly in love with her. Hermione Granger from HP is, and always will be, my favorite book character,(with Rhett Butler shortly behind) because she is so strong, and relatable. End of rant. Sorry it’s so long. =]
Harry Potter wins, hands down. Twilight has absolutely no plot, and the characters are all either Mary Sues or have no personality what so ever. And could some one explain to me what the heck Meyer was on when she came up with SPARKLING VAMPIRES?!
Harry Potter is an intricate book series that can be loved and adored by people of all ages.
Twilight is shallow, biased, and made especially for insane, desperate teenage fangirls.
And I do realize I’m insensitively preaching a book series that actually shows POTENTIAL on a Twi-tard site. I just enjoy shoving the truth in your sniveling faces.
Just to be an annoying Harry Potter fan who will essentially vandalize this site with my post because I use proper grammar and only a small amount of “OMG” caps lock phrases, I feel it seems fair to point out that none of the people who prefer Twilight over Harry Potter can give in depth reasons as to why they like it more other than the fact that the characters in Twilight are hotter, or Harry Potter lacks an Edward Cullen. I am actually quite proud that Harry Potter doesn’t have an Edward Cullen, because if you take away the fact that he is a vampire, he watches her as she sleeps, and defends her from reality. Just, for once, pretend he is human, and if someone was acting like this towards you, despite his morals as to why, you would be creeped out, and if not, I find that abnormal in the non-awesome way. I HAVE read the Twilight series multiple time, as apposed to the Harry Potter series, which I have read much past 40 times. I also would think that Harry Potter is more complex in the aspect of it being a series as a whole. Harry Potter has seven books, there is a strange connection with books in alternate order. The first book has the most in common with the seventh, the second with the sixth, the third with the fifth, and the fourth stands independently acting as the turning point in the series when Voldemort returns, causing a mirror-like affect for the remaining books to reflect on the previous. For example, (spoiler alert) in the second book, Ginny obtains a diary that nearly results in a death, likewise, in the sixth, Harry discovers that his potions book contains homemade spells, including one that holds the power to kill. As for the issue with love in the two series, just as the article states, Harry Potter’s love is the center point of the series, where all’s actions seem to relate to love in one way or another, wether their acts go discovered or not. Snape’s actions focus on his love of Lily, Harry’s mother, and when he, himself, fails her, he chooses to overall protect her son as an act of his love for her, in common conversation, however, Severus’ hatred for Harry’s father causes him to treat him with little consideration when not in dire situations. Voldemort’s lack of love growing up affected him throughout his remaining years, inflicting the deaths upon many innocent. In Twilight, the love is more focused around romance, and the love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob. Even though Alice’s love for her family is shown in Breaking Dawn when she discreetly assists the Cullens, Bella chooses to commit herself to a new family and her passionate love, Edward, over the chance of a normal life with her parents, and friends, quite possibly the Cullens because they appear to be so interesting to her.
As a last addition, please restrain yourself from using the term “Twitard”, it offends many more people than you would think. If you actually just read my near-thesis of a paragraph up there, then HUGGLES to you.
One minute it was that wolf yowling, and then you couldn't hear it anymore - Jake's cussing drowned it right out. Got a set of lungs on him, that boy does. (Charlie)
