Book Review: Night World 2 – Dark Angel, The Chosen and Soulmate
O.k. I just finished Book 2 of the Night world series and thought I would put up this review.

L.J. Smith is the author of the Night World book series.
The Night World is the secret society of vampires, werewolves, witches and shape shifters. They live among the humans without their knowledge.
There are two major rules in Night World:
1. Never tell a human about Night World
2. Never fall in love with a human
So of course you know the characters in these stories break all the rules!
Below is a short little description of each story.
“Dark Angel” synopsis
In this story Gillian is saved by her Guardian Angel from drowning. Only she can see and hear him. Angel promises to fulfill her heart’s every desire. Gillian is excited and happy about all that is happening to her now, but begins to suspect something is wrong about Angel. When Angel starts making strange requests of her and people start getting hurt Gillian begins to question just who or what her guardian angel really is.
“The Chosen” synopsis
When she was only 5 Rashel’s witnesses the murder of her mother and best friend at the hands of a vampire. Vowing to avenge their deaths Rashel spends her life learning the martial arts and becomes a vampire hunter. She spends her life trying to track down the one who ruined her’s and taking down every vampire she can along the way. Then one day she meets Quin, her soulmate. The probably is her soulmate is part of the world Rashel has vowed to destroy. Now she must decide to join the vampire she loves or fulfill the promise she kept.
“Soulmate” synopsis
Hannah’s life is perfect. She couldn’t be happier, except for the pesky business that she thinks she is going insane. She keeps receiving warning notes that her life is in danger, problem is their in her handwriting and she doesn’t remember writing them. Through hypnosis she discovers her soul has been reincarnated since the cave times following her soulmate Thierry. Thierry is Lord of the Nightworld and one of the oldest vampires alive. Through visions of her past lives she sees her reoccurring deaths. Are they at the hands of the one her soul is attached too or is there another danger she doesn’t see?
I really liked this book. I thought the stories were great. All the stories involve teenagers so they are geared to the same audience as the Twilight series. It’s official, I am a major fan of this whole series. Now I have to just go out and buy the third Night World book and read the next three stories. I would recommend any fan of Twilight to check out these books.

I loved the series!!! At first I did not want them but then I did and I did after a week or so!!! They are great and it is really good and everything ties in at the end. Some other books are EverMore, EverNight, Deadly Little Secret, Blue is for Nightmare Series, The House of Night Series, Sucks To Be Me is awesome!!!! These are all great!!!! Oh and he vampire kisses too!!!

Cirque Du Freak are VERY good books as well.. there are 12 book and im on the 6 book and its really good….its also being made into a movie and being released in Oct of this year I think
OH MY GOD! James, from Secret Vampire, was my first ever vampire love lol. I’ve read and own all the first releases of the books. They’re absolutely amazing! Because of the book Daughters of Darkness I’ve forever been in love with the name Jade. XD

This series sounds interesting! I will have to check them out. I have to agree with Elaine on some of the other series also! I recently read Evermore and LOVED it..to bad the next one doesnt come out til August! I am currently on the Fifth book, Hunted, of the House of Night series and I really enjoy this series!!

these books are actually really good. ive read the first one.

finding the 3rd book of night world & currently reading the vampire diaries books 5 [nightfall] or you can consider it book 3. but i found out there is 2 more continuation of the vampire diaries but not yet publish.
but twilight saga ♥ is better.
but if you are looking for something like twilight saga, i recommend the vampire diaries
The Night World series is actually older than Twilight. So it’s not copying Twilight at all. It’s amazingly well planned out, having alot to deal with.
There are witches, vampires, werewolves, and shapeshifters.
When I first started reading the series I didn’t quite understand it. Swapping blood? There has to be enough?? Poppy’s a witch?!?
It takes a little bit to REALLY understand, but once you do understand the book it is absolutely amazing.
The characters are all connected in some way, some how. And it makes the stories all the more interesting.
Recomended.
I also read “Vampire diaries”, they are very good.
Ash and Thierry are my absolute FAVORITES in the series!

I have Been a fan of this author for 15 years. L.J.Smith was my first real love of a writer ( read JKRowling, Stephanie Meyer). I am now 29 years old I even though I have read everything published back in the 90′s… everything currently out about Secret Circle, Night World and Vampire Diaries I-IV. I can’t resist reading them all again. I think alot of the newer writers were probably inspired by the these stories. My favorites have always been the Secret Circle and Dark Visions. If I had to pick my favorite Night World Series I would have to say Black Dawn.
I am not a big reader but my mom is and when twilight came out she made me read them, and i love the books. So now that i am done reading all the books i need to find some thing else to read in the same area as twilight. i hope this is what i am looking for.
as u can see, im in LOVE with angel/gary. he is the hottest thing ive ever seen, wish he was MY gaurdian angel.
i’d just like to clear something up as an l.j.smith fan. her writing is not similiar to twilight, it is twilight that similiar to her work. if you read the vampire diaries that were written in the early 90′s you’ll see A LOT of things that are the same. trust me, l.j.smith’s books are much better than that crap stephenie meyer calls writing. sorry, but it’s true.
Angel- you are sooooooooooooooo right night world is better
At first I thought Night World Book 1 was sort of childishly written in some ways. The story was excellent but the writing left something to be desired. And the first story with Poppy was a bit too cutesy for me. It reminded me of something someone would write in their very early teens. But when I begin a series I can’t stop myself from finishing. And i usually finish all the books in less than a week, depending since I can’t help myself. Night World Book 2 is written much more professionally, in my opinion. I felt like she was just getting warmed up with the first. But I do love how all the stories finally tie together in Soulmate.
I still think Stephenie Meyer is a better writer, and so is P.C Cast and Richelle Mead. But all in all I’d give the stories a 4/5.
I’m a huge twilight fan thts y i love reading books like this but Night World is sort of so different from twilight n not even in a bad way its the best book i’ve read i’m looking forword 2 reading volume 3 n 1. yes i started with vol 2.
