Robert Pattinson was auctioned off in Cannes for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS 2009 Cocktail Party. Two winners each paid $20,000 for a meet and greet, picture and kiss on the cheek from Robert. Read the whole story at ET.

I would of payed $50,000. I don’t think Rob likes fame that much. He is prob nervous all the time because he isnt used to it. Imagine not being big one day, doing something the next and the day after becoming really big that every time you step out of the house you have an entourage of girls chasing you or taking pictures or wanting your autograph. Some people would do anything for fame others would do anything to get out of it.
And plus… (sorry for dragging on, i’m bored waiting for britains got talent and primeval to start) but Kristen and Taylor have been acting since they were well younger but Rob has only ever had a few parts in films, he was a model for this magazine i used to read lolz – i forgot the name – but anyway he only became an actor when he was older. Maybe he can’t realize why he is so big.

That’s so great that he could do that for charity, I think that more actors should get involved with charity work, the people that paid the $20,000 are helping save peoples lives, and by that Rob is helping too.. I think the whole Twilight cast should do something like that for different charities. It would help so many people. It would have been great to have them at the Relay for Life for American Cancer Society when it was in my town, they probably would have brought alot of money to the cause. But alot of money was raised anyway, and every bit counts.. MAYBE NEXT YEAR!! Thanks Rob.

I think that is really nice that he decided to get up there and do that. And of course he’s nervous, like you guys said he probably isn’t used to being so famous. Those parents must really love their kids to pay that much to get them introduced, photographed, and kissed on the cheek by robert. Some movie stars usually wouldn’t agree to that kind of thing, even if it was for charity. Robert is just a really nice guy i guess.
