I ACTUALLY THOUGHT OF THIS WHEN I FIRST HEARD, BUT I MUST SAY, I WAS ALSO EXTREAMLY EXCITED ABOUTT THE CHOICE BECAUSE SHES AN AWESOME ACTRESS! AND IS CHILDLIKE…SHE CAN BE VERY CREEPY(hide and seek), AND AT THE END OF THE DAY, ID MUCH RATHER JANE LOOK SLIGHTLY OLDER THEN PREFERED, THAN NOT BE ABLE TO PULL OFF THE INTENSITY OF JANE! AND DAKOTA HAS GOT INTENSITY IN THE BAG! SO, I SAY, GREAT CHOICE

i remember when people were dead set against Robert Pattinson playing the role of Edward but that worked out great. i think people should give her a shot at it, i think she will be great as Jane.
i dnt think shes jane. i pictured jane more prettier and more like a grown-up but stuck in a kids body. like who kristen duntz played in interview with a vampire! i think they need to find someone else to play jane……i just dnt know who though

Dawne, you hit the nail on the head. So many people were freaking out about Rob saying he could never pull it off and that he would ruin Edward for the fans. And I think it is pretty obvious that he was the exact opposite. He was perfect for the role and duh, drop dead gorgeous. Dakota has the acting chops to take on this role and I am excited to see what she does with it. And as another comment said I would rather see Jane cast a little older so that we can have an actress that can handle the role and do it justice rather than cast someone really young with less experience and completely mess it up. Dakota has held her own on the screen with Robert De Niro and Denzel Washington I think she will be great.

Dakota had played with so many good actors before and she has such an amazing talent! she is perfect for the role of Jane and when i was reading the book i pictured Jane like Dakota so yeah..for me Dakota IS Jane!

I expected someone darker to play the role of Jane. I believe she can handle the role, but I did not expect a blonde in the part.

I’ve always thought Dakota would be great and I am looking forward to seeing her! I like that it’s mostly positive feedback from everyone and i agree with those of you who say she’s mature enough in her acting to play the part well, but young enough physically to still be the character. Cant wait til 11/20!!!!

Who said Jane was supposed to look twelve years old? It doesnt say in any of the books that she was supposed to look twelve. The book just said Jane looked like a teenager witha childlike voice. I think Dakota will be great as Jane. She is an awesome actress. When they first announced that it would be Rob playing Edward, people said no way. But now everyone cant get enough of him. I think we should give Dakota a chance.

I personally think Dakota is trying to grow up too fast.I see all these pictures of her and she looks like the celeberties on the red carpet.She could play the role of jane but she really need to tone the black makeup down and not wear such ugly costume or whatever that is.Her hair should not be up like that in didnt say janes hair was like that,apperently the directors actors like dakota need to read new moon again before they get it all wrong.
Although I can’t wait to see the movie,I loved Twilight but I thaught the director was horriable and was trying to act younger than she was,at the mtv awards she was wearing an outfit a teen or someone in there 20′s might wear,what is she like 50.(she needed to read the book again because some of the stuff in the movie wasnt even in the book)Again I cant wait to see new moon, is it just me but in the movie trailer did luarent look kinda gold???

I don’t think she should be Jane. I thought that from the beginning. Nothing personal against her, it just that she’s too old, and not small enough, and just doesn’t look right in the outfit.

No way could Dakota pull off that Sweet Angelic Face of a 12 year old. However, there are 2 females not 12 yrs old that MAY be able to pull it off….. Reese Witherspoon OR Alicia Silverstone?? Hmmm. Just my opinion. OR How about, Emily Osment aka Lilly Truscott on Hannah Montana?? THEN THERE IS Loren McConnell.. OF Bridge to Terabithia and “THE REAPING” !!!! All awesome!!!
