While running away from fans Robert Pattinson was struck by a taxi cab in NYC while filming his new movie Remember Me.
Radar Online witnessed the event. This is what they said:
“A team of five security guards were trying to fend off a crowd of teenaged girls when Rob was leaving the bookstore.
It was pouring rain as they tried to hustle him quickly across the busy street to the safety of his trailer.
Some of the teen girls were hysterical and Rob rushed across the road. As he did so, a taxi grazed him. The cabbie slammed on his brakes as soon as he realized what had
It appeared as if the cab hit Rob in the hip. He stood there for a moment looking stunned. The bodyguard next to him checked if he was okay and then screamed at the fans: “You see what you did, you almost killed him!”

According to an article on E! A spokesperson for the Summit Entertainment studio states:
“Robert Pattinson is fine. The reports are exaggerated, and the accident was not caused by fans. Production continues.”
This is why I feel so bad for celebrities sometimes. Paparazzi and crazed fans constantly hounding them like they aren’t real people. I understand that when you become a celebrity you must give up some of this freedom of living a normal life to deal with your fame, but come on this is ridiculous! He could have been seriously hurt he was just lucky traffic moves so slow in NYC because it’s so busy and crowded.
I know if I was a celebrity I would be getting sued all the time by paparazzi hounding me, because once I’m in my car you better get out the way or I guarantee you I would be running over your toes.

Everybody has lives, feelings, and families. Famous people do too, they are just like us and if people are around you like that you’ll go CRAZY! Famous people are LIKE US! Once again, they have lives, feelings, and families just like everyone else in this world.
honestly i think that some of these fans are going way to crazy. yes it woudl be nice to say hi or have a picture or an autograph, but if he doesn’t stop for the first person he isn’t going to stop for the rest of them. but that’s just my opinion.

I have real sympathy for Rob. From being unknown to mobbed in a matter of months is just…crazy. I can’t even imagine how I would be feeling if I was in his position right now. Thank God that taxi wasn’t driving fast.

WOW-That is all I can say. I know that everyone around the world would love to get a few minutes of Robert’s time but really is it worth getting him nearly hurt or killed? I kind of agree with Brianna, though the fans did go overboard. But i think the bodyguard was kinda harsh. At first wen i watched the mobbing girls video i thought it was funny. but now its just kinda sad.
