Will Breaking Dawn the movie be a success or failure
Reelz Channel has an article entitled, “Breaking Dawn: Will the Movie Beat the Book?”
They state in the article: “We’ve come up with 10 ways the movie could either rake in major box-office bucks or epically fail in a way not seen since Speed Racer dropped off the face of the planet. Even Pattinson might not be enough to save this one.”
Here is the ten things they list:
1. Bella and Edward’s Wedding
2. The “Sex” Scenes
3. Jacob’s Third of the Book
4. Renesmee’s Birth
5. Renesmee Carlie Cullen
6. A Major Lack of Edward
7. An Influx of Utterly Pointless Characters
8. The Absence of Action
9. Superfluous Plot Points that Go Nowhere
10. A Vampire War that’s Won by … Talking?
I agree with many of the points in this article. I think it will be hard to make the movie. You really can’t do the sex scenes or birthing scene justice to be portrayed as it was in the book.
Breaking Dawn was my absolute favorite book in the series, I read the entire 800 pages in one day!! I think the writers and director are definitely going to have their work cut out for them in making this film.
I am looking forward to seeing Jacob and Rosalie totally ripping on each other though it was my favorite part of the book. They both came up with some great insults for each other that had me rolling.

I have to disagree with all of you wanting to cut the sex scenes completely. It’s not like the book went into graphic detail. It was more imaginative. Besides, not fair to all of us older readers. I’m 25 and not to be mean but not everything can be tailored to fit the younger crowd.
Harry Potter is a great example, as the books grew so did the movies. They became more dark and graphic.
They can be done tastefully, without going over the top like an XXX film for goodness sakes. The book gives the illusion, so why not have them in the water, beginning to kiss then waking up the next morning with the feathers everywhere?? Not so bad right??
this is so mental they shouldnt even say things like this sure they cant do some scenes out all the way all kinds of movies cant do sex scenes out all the way and i agree with TeamEdwardGurl they shouldnt take the sex scenes all the way out they dont even go into detail on those i also agree with her when she says start kissing in the water and wake up with the feathers thats how it is in the movie no big deal and i think it will be a great movie i have read all the books and breaking dawn is one of my favorites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

breaking dawn is my fav book in twilight saga.. i’m hopeful that they’ll stick with the book and really make the sex scene and birth of renesmee possible and the rest of the scenes on the list, of course.. and i hope they wouldn’t limit the time for the movie cause we all know how thick the book is.haha. doesn’t matter how long the movie is, as long as they stay true with the book…soo there. i think it’ll be a success.looking forward to see the rest of the twilight saga on the big screen.^^

I truly love this saga….my daughter got me into it and I am now reading Breaking Dawn. Would it be asking to much when you post updates and things which are much appreciated by the way. to give us a spoiler alert? I feel like I already know how things are going to play out in Breaking Dawn and I just arrived at Isle Esme!! Hope this isn’t too much of a request…what with the popularity if this saga, there ARE more and more people reading it for the first time. Don’t spoil it!!

If teens are really big big fans maybe they will even wait until we’re 17 to watch the movie or tell their mother to buy the DVD as birthday present who cares what age they are.

YES!!! They have to make it how could they do the 1st 3 and not the 4th book??? It’s my favorite. People are talking about the sex or birthing seen, The book dosent even get into the sex part so the movie dosent have too and with the birthing why not? its the movies special efects look at other moives!!! they could do it!!! or if they dont want to they could just stay with Rose with she leaves the room!!! and not show any of it? I cant wait for it!!!
Definetly need to make BD, I agree they need a awesome director we’ll c how well they do New Moon. I hope they keep as close to the book as possible, my fav book! I think since Robert is kinda the shy type he’ll do the best in this movie.If they can make all the HP movies they can do BD. It should be atleast 3hrs or 2 parts. Sorry kids I think this one should be rated R like that will stop anyone from seeing it. Renesmees birth is important it shows Edward turn her into a vampire, FINALLY! I don’t think it was to gorry & I have a weak stomache, come on have u seen some of these movies now. They’ll probably shorten Jacob’s part, but hope they keep in the parts w/ Edward hearing his thoughts & reacting lmao! and of course Jacob & Rosalie. The End doesn’t have to be this big fight if they show Bella’s shield and all the extra stuff going on w/ Jane, Alec, Zafrina, & Benjamin, & etc. Who says there has to be a fight at the end of ever vampire movie, plus I wouldn’t compare it to anyother vampire movie that’s what makes it so great. Edward’s in this book more than New Moon & I’m sure New Moon will be a hit, but I wouldn’t complain if there was a lil extra Edward. THESE AREN’T ACTION MOVIES THEY R ROMANCE!!!!!!And I agree if BD the book was rated I would go w/ ‘R.
i think that they can do the sex seen because in the the book they go swimming and then it goes to morning. and the other two times they have sex it starts out with them kissing and a little more and then its morning! the movie wont be as good as the book if they dont have the birthing scene because that is the first time u see Nessie and when Edward saves bella by turning her into a vampier!!! they have 2 put that scene in the movie or the fans will be mad!!!! i have read the books 3 times and i really love them and i hope the movies live up 2 the books!!
I hope they make it a movie and do a good job, with special effects now I think they can. It wasn’t mi favorite book but I would still love to see it. I love Jacob [[Team Jacob]] but the whole imprinting on the daughter of the woman you love thing I think was kinda weird. I think they can deal with the sex scenes tastefully and the bloody birth scene. I think they can make in a way that would show how intense it should be but not show as much….I dont think they would make it rated R because they could lose alot of money bc of parents not wanting to bring their kids to see it. When it comes to money, I think they will take it into big consideration. Also STEPHANIE MEYER doesn’t even see Rated R movies, so that might be a problem…anyways, hope it works out well! Cant wait for New Moon!!!
I totally agree with what your saying, it will be hard to live up to the books in those areas. I have faith though. As much as we love to hate Rose I think the bit in Breaking Dawn when she turns a bowl into a dog dish and scratches FIDO in it is classic, even Jacob had to laugh, hell funny.
I hope that this movie is made. I think that the love scenes and the birth of renesme needs to be included, honestly those scenes complete bella and edward when they finally consumate their love and start their family. i also loved how the entire family reacted to the birth of renesme and the way jacob and rosalie interacted.Its going to have to be R. I love BD it was my favorite book!
I don’t thing the sex part is so dificult, because is just Bella geting in to the water, the rest is just imagination, some kisses and the next morning broken beds an feaders, I ting it wil be realy easy for a good director. The birth part is the one I hope they found the way. One of the parts, that I think is super important and they can’t avoid is when Edward bite her and ingect her chest. Bella just wanted him to chage her and the point that he did is important!!!

we love breaking dawn. we loved the sex scenes. we love robert & Kristian and nomatter how they perfom in breaking dawn. it will be an hit. cos of the hugee fan base.
