Will Breaking Dawn the movie be a success or failure
Reelz Channel has an article entitled, “Breaking Dawn: Will the Movie Beat the Book?”
They state in the article: “We’ve come up with 10 ways the movie could either rake in major box-office bucks or epically fail in a way not seen since Speed Racer dropped off the face of the planet. Even Pattinson might not be enough to save this one.”
Here is the ten things they list:

2. The “Sex” Scenes
3. Jacob’s Third of the Book
4. Renesmee’s Birth

6. A Major Lack of Edward
7. An Influx of Utterly Pointless Characters

I agree with many of the points in this article. I think it will be hard to make the movie. You really can’t do the sex scenes or birthing scene justice to be portrayed as it was in the book.
Breaking Dawn was my absolute favorite book in the series, I read the entire 800 pages in one day!! I think the writers and director are definitely going to have their work cut out for them in making this film.
I am looking forward to seeing Jacob and Rosalie totally ripping on each other though it was my favorite part of the book. They both came up with some great insults for each other that had me rolling.

i think if the writers stay as true to the book as possible it will be great, however it will be difficult to make 800 pages into a 90 min movie, they may have to make it a few hours. i really want to see the birth scene come to life, i think it may be possible, hollywood has a lot of computer technology to make it work. hopefully they will do great. i have faith

and with the “lack of edward”, as long as they really start showing more of jacob, people will be interested in his character by the 4th movie so i don’t think that will be too much of a problem

I see the 10 points and yes it could be a hit and miss movie, but it will depend on who will be the producer of Breaking Dawn I think. I loved the last book too and there’s alot of details to cover, I just hope they won’t make it in 2 movies like Harry Potter (Deathly Hollows)…

Breaking Dawn is my favourite, I can’t wait for that movie to be made, I dont think it would be too difficult to make I think the hardest scene will be the birth, just need to make it the same as the book and keep all the original actors/actresses and it will be a hit for sure.
i totally agree. i think they might be able to pull everthing off with the technology we have now. i think they need to make Breaking Dawn longer like the Harry potter movies. Breaking Dawn was my favorite book, and we should cross our fingers and hope they get a well experienced director.
I soo loved Breaking Dawn!! I can’t wait to see it come to life I am sure it will won’t be as good as it was in my head but hey at least they are gonna try and i think that freakin rocks!! I love the whole book from start to end MAKE IT LONG LOL!!
I…don’t think there will be a Breaking Dawn movie. I REALLY want there to be a movie, but Pattinson nor Stewart signed to do it. I mean, they can still change there minds, but, …I don’t think they will. I think that when they’ve finished Eclipse and they’re ready film Breaking Dawn, Kris and Rob will read the book and decide. But it’s less likely. The director could easily take out the sex parts and Nessie’s birth, but, the BOOK-lovers would be mad. It wouldn’t be Meyer’s Breaking Dawn. It’d be the director’s film.
They are going to have to really play up Bella’s role in the final “battle” as that is the only real action we see. Alec/Jane’s attacks and Bella’s thwarts are going to have to be a big part of it. I think they should do garrett’s speech too because even though its just a speech, it is a major part of the book and would be very moving and emotional if done right
I’m pretty sure I saw an interview where Rob said he would do a 4th movie if there was one. Not that that’s a contract or anything, but I don’t think he would go back on that.
I thought I saw an interview also saying that if there was a 4th movie Rob would be part of it, and there wouldn’t really be any full on sex scenes as in the book they are really just left to the imagination.. so the only part they could take out would be Renesmee’s birth. I don’t see why it can’t be a 2 hour long movie. It took me longer than 2 hours too read so im sure i can sit through all the HOTTNESS on the screen for 2 hours….
ana, i understand where you’re coming from, but nessie’s birth was the beginning of bella’s enternal life, i would really hope they wouldn’t cut that out!!! as to them not signing on for it, i don’t know if summit has agreed to make it yet. i know they had to make a certain amount of money off twilight to make new moon, so maybe they’re just waiting to see numbers from new moon. i would hope they wouldn’t stop at eclipse, because breaking dawn is the whole end to a new begining if that makes any sense in my corny wording hehe

I can see how it could be a disaster… but I honestly think it depends on the director. But i really hope they decide to make it. The Twilight Saga just wouldnt be the same with out it.
I think Breaking Dawn will succeed! I have faith in Stephenie Meyer!! I’m sure they’ll use the same screenwriter as with the first three books/movies. And the screenwriter (Emily??) works with Stephenie and gets her approval. Even though I have not read BD yet, I’m sure Emily will want Stephenie’s feedback on how to make the difficult parts work, like the birth and stuff as you guys have mentioned.
I heard BD was signed on to be made, but it won’t be released for like 3 years so I doubt they’ve given much thought to how it will be made. They’re polishing up New Moon, and have yet to begin Eclipse, although the Eclipse screenplay is being worked on right now if its not already finished.
Besides people will WANT to see how the story ends! I think a lot of people would be upset if it wasn’t made. If they can make Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) age backwards, and X-Men 3 where Magneto and Xavier appear younger, I’m sure they can do Nessy’s birth. Plus they’ll have enough profit from the first three movies to make the CG effects look good!
I hope they do a Breaking Dawn Movie. At first i have to admit i wasnt a Twilight fan. I saw the movie and thought it was ok. My best friend told me to read the books. I read them in 4 days, Breaking Dawn being my absolute favorite. There is nothing that says the movie can’t be longer.. Look at Lord Of The Rings or even the new Star Trek movie. those were over 2hrs long. With the CGI they have today I’m sure they can do the movie justice along with a great director. According to IMDB they have Breaking Dawn coming in 2011.. three months ago it said 2013. I think there will be alot of Twilight Fans ticked if they dont finish the series.. That would be like Harry Potter series not doing the last book. Jacob not being my favorite character (dont shoot me) but even I enjoyed the digs with him and rosalie (fido bowl, and him flipping the bowl into her hair) im sorry i laughed out loud for an hour on that one..
i really do think they should make the movie.im a bigg twilight fan.it would be they best thing to make the movie.

I really think this will be a hard movie to make. Eclipse is my favorite, but no matter what I will still go see Breaking Dawn. I just think it will take a great director to pull this one off. The book is so great it will be a tough act to follow!

I don’t want them to take out Renesmee’s birth, they just don’t have to go into as much detail as in the book. If I can what Tom Hanks in Appollo 13 for 3 or so hours I can watch Edward, Jasper and Emmett for eternity LOL.
i pray they make the movie and im sure many other girls and some guys do too! its hard to follow these discriptions as said in the book but i also believe if they stick to the book as much as possible it will be a success. though i may think it would be hard to keep this movie under rated R lol keep it cute keep it clean at least make it PG 13!
I think it will be amazing. Probably the best of the four movies! It was definitally the best of all the books, in my opinion! As long as they stay with the book and don’t change things, it will be huge!
they better not make it rated R if they do ther ticket sales will go down the toilet how maney of the twilight fans are under 17 A LOT. and most mom’s and or dad;s are NOT going to take us to see the movie the should stay true to the book’s in the book’s they do not go in to detail thy stop right at the beging that is all i am saying
To be honest, BD was my least favorite book but I do think that have to make it. I think it will have to be an R rated movie though if they are to put the honeymoon and birthing scenes in. There are creative and artistic ways to do the sex scenes w/o being too graphic and the same thing with the birth (no close ups when Bella is being sliced open). Look, the Harry Potter movies became darker each film (like the books) so I don’t see why they need to sanitize it. It is too hard to tell. The film could tank or be a success. Now I also have to admist (and Jacob fans don’t hurt me) the whole Jacob/Renesmee imprinting thing ruined it for me. I was so sick of Jacob by the middle of this book.
i said it before and i’ll say it again it is gonna have to be a 2 parter movie like kill bill and they might have to take liberty’s with come action scene’s and add some and also the rating will have to be higher then PG-13 those are the breaks for all of you who are under 18 drag ur rents along kiddies…
but i do think they have to do some thing about the inapropriate parts because some fan like me can’t see R yet, and i do not wanna drag my rents along to see THAT with me. ha ha
I think they should crank up the rating to R for it (I’m 17 so I can see, sucks for you kids). Though honestly don’t see why people loved Breaking Dawn; it was more like a really bad fanfiction to me.
well i agree they will have some difficulties but i am sure they can do it justice im sure they can portray it like the book i mean they dont have to get to graphic for us to get the point , they can use the fade in fade out with the sex scenes like they do in alot of movies and it will still be good i am looking foward to breaking dawn it is my favorite of all the books and i believe it will be the best of all the movies if done right

i absoluely loved Breaking Dawn! It was one of my most favorite books of the series and I CANT WAIT FOR IT TO BE A MOVIE!!! i hope the new director who ever he/she is does it perfect. yea it might not be exactly like the book but what movie is?! theyll be able t keep it as close as possible im pretty sure of it. i think itll be a success. just cuz there are millions of ppl who love twilight and if you see the first three twilight movies your gonna wanna see the forth one! i know i am! every time i watch Twilight..i go crazy to see New Moon..who doesnt ?! lol anywayz.. i tink itll be a success.. and bout the rating and time.. if they have to push the rating up to R so be it and if they have to make it into a two part movie oh well.. idc as long as it is made into a movie!!! im just really glad they are.

In my opinion I love all of the Twilight Books… It’s a bit like loving your own Children, they’re all yours to keep, you love them all alot but differently, they each have different qualities that make them each unique…..
Now if they are going to make this film (and I really hope they do because then the family would be incomplete if they don’t) then most likely it should be a RATED R movie due to the contents of the book…. I believe if they do a PG-13 movie then they would have to cut out alot of things from the book…. It wouldn’t be fair to all my fellow Twi-hard friends if they cut out the best parts….

I think it will be great~If they stick to the book the movie should be rated R in my opinion but they might be able to get away with PG 13 specifically if they cut down on the details of the birth scene. The sex scenes aren’t that graphic in the book so I don’t see the need to cut anything there. Not to mention if a little girl was able to ‘read’ the sex scenes, what real difference does it make if they see it? I’m sure they’ve seen MUCH worse on daily tv or any other PG 13 movie out there, Bella and Edward are married and hey, I thought it was sweet~ Breaking Dawn was my favorite.

I think that it could work, that the movie could be made and I thnk this one should be rater R because there is soo much intense scenes in the book and they will HAVE to keep it close to the book and its the FINAL book/movie of it all, it would suck if there was NO movie. I thnk it shouild also be longer to- Definitely more than 90 mins or however long its supposed to be. It should be more time limit as Titantic than anything.

They exaggerate too much, both in the book and movie, i don’t think i coudl stand more than 90mins of it, especially for breaking dawn where nothing interesting happens.

it wouldn’t be rated R, MA max, there are sex scenes in many movies, just because its more unnatural sex doesn’t mean it will need to be unwatchable to a majority of the books audience. We read about it, so what difference does it make. You’ll still get horny! i mean who wouldn’t want to be on the same bed as Edward?

AS FAR AS THE LENGTH OF THE FILM, TWILIGHT WAS ALMOST TWO HOURS, SO BREAKING DAWN WILL NEED TO B LIKE FOUR HOURS, OR TWO MOVIES!!! Think of Titanic, it was four hours! and they just had an inermission in the middle of the film for the audience to take a break( i remember, i saw it 3 times in the theatre). i dont c why that wont b an option for BD. Also, if it was made into two movies, thats been done too! i think they even did it with the first LORD OF THE RINGS.

as for the action scenes, they can add more action if needed for theatrical effect(like in new moon, robert pattinson said they added more action scenes with EDWARD, and also when laurent gets taken down), and if they dont add more, who cares! the book was a best saler for a reason, BECAUSE ITS AWESOME JUST AS IT IS!

Wow,im all excited about Breaking Dawn!I’m getting the book this weekend and i can’t wait to start reading!!I heard people say that it’s the best book of them all but i don’t know yet.I hope it’s not just me who wants to finish the book in 2 days,haha how weird!=)Must say can’t wait for the interesting parts parts,actually the whole book!Just hope im not expecting too much.Breaking dawn will be a success.
I think to make it really exciting for the big screen they’re gonna sell out the book and just do an actual fight scene. It’s the only logical thing to do to make it a big action movie…then again I could be wrong. But if they do it all Hollywood, they’re gonna throw in a fight scene….OR I thought about them throwing in a fight scene where some characters die and then u cut to it just being all in Bella’d mind dazing off. =) then those who complained of no fight or casualities would get that in the movie but it’s still end up being true to the book! =) I take full credit if they do that cuz u all heard it from me here first. Ha ha =P
Breaking Dawn was my favorite too. And I think Renesmee´s birth was one of the best scenes ever. I loved that it wasn´t all candles and soft music on the background but gruesome and bloody and I loved how Rosalie lost control. But I am afraid that it will be nothing like that in the movie if they have to keep PG-13 rating…and if they change the rating, as I hope they will, all the little Rob-fans (and their parents!!) get upset! …well, it´s not children´s book (not in my opinion anyway!)
I also loved Rosalie and Jacob bickering and hating each other through the book and still both taking care of Renesmee after she was born. And like someone already mentioned, the “sex” scenes weren´t graphic in the book, and there are nice, even beautiful ways to film those so I don´t think that´s a problem.
I am very excited that the movie is being made, and truly hope that it will be as great as the book is.

i agree with all of you who say BD is ur fave book, it is awesome! and i think the movie will go great because Stephanie meyer ended b4 “it” happend. so the movie should to,the only really ummmmmmmmm………………… disturbing, part is renesmee’s birth and if they tone it down just a ticy wicy little bit it (i don’t want it to be changed tat much but just a little bit to make it more humane-)should keep its rateing of PG 13 and if not ):(

I have a bad feeling about the movie. I think that both New Moon and Eclipse will be amazing and then the expectations for Breaking Dawn will be way too high, combined with the fact it will be the finale of the Twilight Saga. So perhaps they should just put the wedding and the honeymoon in the Eclipse movie and stop there. Though I would really, really like to see other parts of BD, too, like Bella finally becoming immortal. Oh, and this part where she let Edward look into her mind. I would just love to see his face at that moment. Other than that, the 4th book was my least favorite mostly due to Jacob’s part and this horrific pregnancy and giving birth thing. It just made me sick. So I am really not looking forward to seeing that on screen, but if they are going to make a BD movie I don’t think there’s any going around Nessi’s birth.

If they don’t make it I would be very disappointed! I have been waiting for it and I think BD is probably the best book! Anyways they will probably get many viewers because many people want to see how it ends. in New Moon we get to see Jacob’s HOT body so in Breaking Dawn we should get to see some of Edward’s HOT body!!!!! Even though there are some sick parts in this movie… it doesn’t matter….If they director that will do it is so concered then make it rated “R” but lots of children that love twilight will still watch it….They can’t stop us from that!
I could understand that Kristen and Rob probably don’t like the idea of doing the sick scenes but if they don’t do it then they should make the movie. Its better to have the same people stay the same character then have some other person that looks like them play their part. Thats stupid. But im stating my opinion so no one has to agree with me.

i tihnk that they should make like three parts of the movie, like one for bella as human, one for jacob, and one for bella as a vampire.what i mean is that they should make three seperate movies for Breaking Dawn…that would be sweet
i would really love to see breaking dawn made into a film but im kind of worried about some parts being in the film (isle esme!) coz i didnt tel me mum the WHOLE story. and coz it is soooo long and the jacob part it wud be hard to make it a film and in trying to cut it short you might miss some really good parts out but it wud be a shame if the last part of the love story didnt make it to the screen!

Hmmm…I am a huge Twilight fan and all and I love everything about it, but I’m actually sitting on the fance about this one. I just, uh…it’s not that I’m saying it’s not possible, but I think the problem will be that the movie people (directors, producers, editors…etc.) Are in sort of a rush to finish the movies while they’re still popular. Does anyone get what I mean? I think that to make Breaking Dawn a successs they will have to put A LOT of time into it. But I don’t think that they (the movie people and actors) are up for it. I just think that I would rather have them take like 2/3 years to make it and have it turn out phenominal than only a little time so that it still comes out with all this Twilight buzz going around and have it actually be crappy.

First of all, they absolutely HAVE to finish the series (wether they like it or not) because its not everyone who read the books and they wont know how the story ends.

Ok. I really think they will make Breaking Dawn into a movie. First thing I want to point out is that this article mentioned having hits and misses. Where was the positive??
However, I do agree that it could prove difficult. There is so much in the final book that all of us fans would want to see, that it could end up 4 hours, not that I would mind of course.
As far as the steamy scenes go they don’t need to go all out. It could be just like the book. We all know what happened that night!
I lovve “Breaking Dawn” and I CAN’T wait for the movie. I think that since Cathrine directed “Twilight”, Chris directed “New Moon” and David is directing “Eclipse”, that all three of them should work together and direct “Breaking Dawn.” because there are 3 parts to the 4th book. Cathrine can do the 1st, Chris the 2nd with Jacob..wolves?, and David the last with the volturi and fighting stuff. I think that would be awesome. Think about it!
I actually agree whit some thing in the list. I love the 4th book (as every one) but i was a little down when they win just talking in the end, so i hope there’s mos action in the movie. as everything else a hope the stick to the book version
I have to disagree with the points I think that the reason they gave will actually make the movie a huge success! I mean there are tons of Jacob fans and theyll enjoy the Jacob focus factor plus I know I cant wait to see the baby being born is going to be a weird experience I mean how often do you get to see a half vampire half human baby be born NEVER! And its a movie they can make a small fight sen if they need to the movies arent exactly one hundred percent by the book anyways!
They have to make Breaking Dawn. You cannot leave a saga unfinished. If they follow the book, it will be a huge success. Fans really want to see the wedding, the birth, and Bella as a vampire. Hello, this was the best book of the series!
i agree with you werewolf having bella in the rooma nd the camera out sid ethe room would be goo and then you could just have jakes thoughts going. we would also get to see alice draging rosalie off

I cant wait for Eclipse though. I liked Breaking Dawn but Eclipse was my fav. I loved the part in Breaking Dawn when Rosalie writes Fido on the Food Bowl. That was funny. The sex scenes they should not put in. When i read the book i was kind of disturbed, and they should totally put Renesmee’s birth just with Kristen with clothes on and he belly showing. Anyone agree with me? Can’t wait for New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. 
Oh i forgot. I want to see Jacob’s point of view. I love the chapter titles in his book, they are funny. GO TEAM JACOB!!!!

as far s the birth, ya, it will be graphic, and gorry(if they dont do what WEREWOLF suggested), but that just means it will be more like a normal vampire movie than the previous three films were…SO WHAT?!
FINAL NOTE-
Think of harry potter, they started out more young, and as the series grew, so did the actors, and storylines! meaning, the first twilight might b rated pg-13, but that doesnt mean its a rule for all of them!!
THIS IS MY FAV BOOK, AND AS MUCH AS I CANT WAIT, I DO HOPE THEY TAKE THERE TIME WITH IT AND MAKE IT AS GOOD AS CAN B, INSTEAD OF RUSHED CRAP THAT DOES THE BOOK NO JUSTICE!!

and we can see renesme when jake does for the first time!

They need to make the Breaking Dawn that was my favorite book and all they need to do is cut the sex scenes and not so much as a violent birth. but were the camera is facing Edward not Bella and I do believe that if they do that then it can make a great movie!! I think Breaking Dawn will be a awesome movie!!! I don’t think they should cut out the sex scenes just not make it graphic. Same for the birth scene. As far as the vampire fight goes, its not won by talking exactly….they win because of their abilites being used.

Well I also agree if they stick to the book AMAP than it wil be fine. But with the lack of Edward isn’t that much of a problem because in New Moon there isn’t going to be a whole lot of hime either. I think they shopuld keep the sex scenes in because that will appeal to a much wider audience and also when Jake becomes the alpha and besides these books are more about romance thatn action so yeah. Thats what I think.

Well I hope they make it!! I loved the book and I hope they make it R rated! I mean come on if the people reading aren’t 17 or more by 2011 or so then what gives? The book left a lot to the imagination and though I don’t want to see boobies or anything I would like to see it get steamy! And if they stick to the book on the birth I think it will be great!
I totally agree Brandy. I never thought that the Breaking Dawn was a PG. They may be able to make it PG13. But its Hollywood so they can do whatever they want with cgi’s

Someone had mentioned that they were rushing to get these made while the story is still popular.. I dont think thats the case, i think its the fact that since the whole storyline takes place within a two year timeframe basically if you take the time of 2-4yrs to do a film there is no way you can stop someone from not looking 17 or 18. To keep the same cast looking like they havent aged (since vampires dont age) they have to rush through all of them.. The sex scenes weren’t that graphic and left alot to the imagination,it wasnt detailed explicit and i have read worse, graphic wise. The fact that Renesmee’s birth was graphic, its a vampire story how could it not be graphic.. The problem arises that the books were written for teens, but adults are just as much into the series as the teens and young adults. Adults want more, teens want less. It’s going to be hard to please everyone and make a halfway decent movie without chopping it to bits.
ok so i think these people have to woek REALLY hard to make this movie a succsses, because of the obviuos reasons. The birthing scene is going to be tough, but i think the most hardest seence will be the war that is won by talking. I think the movie people will add just a tad bit more action, becuase if not then the movie will be an epic failure, but i do think that since half the planet is a fan of twilight, maybe even more than half that the movie might sell. But it will be hard to make the movie be oleasable for everyone, but it hink the people might pull it off.

Here is the thing the two that keep popping up saying would be hard is the birth scene and the sex scene
with the birth scene they are going to have to use their imaginations
with the sex scene god there are sex scenes in sooo many bloody movies the new movie with Ashley Greene has one in the trailer people need to stop pretending their kids haven’t scene it (or done it for some) and trying to hide them most fans are 12 or so and i know that there are little kids who like the movie but it is not hard to cover their eyes

i so agree with u there. i mean heaps of movies have SEX SEX SEX. so y is it any differnt if they do it with breaking dawn. and if u take the sex scene and the birth scene out then whats the point then. coz we all know that she wanted to do it with him 4 ages. i mean it will be like such a kwl movie to c and u gta have Renesmee in it. and really there is so NO POINT to cut out the sex and birth scene or they will just KILL KILL KILL the movie like they did with twilight…..they rushed that movie so much i cant watch it anymore its like boring as. but the book rocks.

I agree, that I would love to see the movie, but there is just no way of taking Stephanie Meyer’s beautiful words from print to portray the vivid picture created in my mind when I read them. It will be impossible, and it will ruin bella and edward’s “love” story.
I think that it would be a failure. They can’t really film the sex scenes or renessme b/c she is constantly growing. Besides if they did make a Breaking Dawn movie I think a lot of older readers would go see it, but what about the younger ones. They will want to see it but won’t be able too b/c more than likely it would be rated R. And I don’t think that they would want to ask their parents to take them to see a rated R movie with sex scenes in it. I know I wouldn’t. They would be like, “Why is it rated R?” and I don’t really want to expain to my parents why or sit there next to them watching the movie with them.
