Author accusing Stephenie of plagiarizing “Breaking Dawn”

Some people have sent us emails about news popping up over the net about an author accusing Stephenie Meyer of plagiarizing Breaking Dawn.
For those who haven’t heard the story here is the short version:
An author, Jordan Scott , claims that Stephenie plagiarized concepts and passages from her 2006 book The Nocturne.
Now I am going to send you on over to Twilight Lexicon to get all the details on what is going on. They have posted some amazing posts on the situation including some research they conducted and a statement from Stephenie Meyer’s representatives.

ha! that’s so incredibly LOW and UNDIGNIFIED of that jordan scott person. I mean, honestly. trying to ride onto the back of such a franchise? they must really be trying to get publicity for their book. personally, i think it’s quite obvious that Stephenie has created all characters and plots on her own. She’s absolutely brilliant, and it’s pretty pathetic that someone would stoop to trying to pass of Stephenie’s work as their own.

wow this crap is effed up. Um the whole Twilight thing was from a DREAM that Stephenie had and she’s been writing these books for how long now? Since like 2003 or something like that. Breaking Dawn was released uhh a couple years ago right? And this Jordan Scott person wrote the Nocture trilogy when she was 15 and now just decides that Breaking Dawn is plagarized off her book coincidentally after The Twilight Saga has made a ton of money…hmmm…yaa…I doubt that Steph did that. Sounds to me like Scott likes to do publicity stunts for money and so people will read her books that no one seemed to like. Ya…let’s just say I’m pissed and also pretty f***ing humored that Scott would even have the nerve to do some bullsh** like this. “yay let’s ruin Stehpenie’s career so i can make money!” NOOTTT!

I read several articles on the subject and its obvious that Ms. Scott wants some money. Stephenie even copywritted ‘Breaking Dawn’ before Jordan Scotts book. And besides ‘Forever Dawn’ was even copy writted years before ‘Breaking Dawn’ and ‘Forever Dawn’ is basicly the same story as ‘Breaking Dawn’. Ms. Scotts lawyer is even going to TMZ and MTV for their input, so that shows how serious the subject is*sarcasm*. Stephenie would never steal someone elses creative ideas.

1.)Actually Stephenie just got her Bella & Edward meadow scene from a dream.
2.)Why did it take so long for them to scream plagiarized? It’s been a year since the book has been on the shelves.
3.)Now that she is succesful and her books are loved by the millions, she is exposed and all the negative nellies, so called critics, and so forth are going to try and bring it down or try to ride on her coatails of fame, it happens all the time and it peeves me off.
4.)I support Stephenie, she has given me a wonderful love story that I love.

Also, I just looked at the Twilight Lexicon article, and it says that Jordan Scott lady or guy, published his/her book AFTER Breaking Dawn was published. So that author just wanted their 15 minutes of fame.

From what the sources are stating – The similarities between the two books are weak at best and Stephenie copyrighted her story before the Scott person did. If this is true – it’s a mute point.
