Catalina Sandino Moreno cast as Maria in Eclipse

One of our readers, Azucena, sent us a link to an article at The Hollywood Reporter stating that another person has been cast in Eclipse.
She is Catalina Sandino Moreno and she has been cast as Vampire Maria. Maria is the vampire who turned Jasper.

Why 14-15???? Maria is a leader of her coven, she is not very young! Catalina is ideal Maria!

I think she fits the description really well. I can’t wait to see how she looks as a vampire with the ruby red eyes!

Wow you guys are super harsh… I think she’s beautiful. I can’t tell how tall this girl is but as long as she’s short (because that’s how she is described in the book) I think she’ll be perfect. All you people out there saying she’s not pretty need to take a better look. And the person who said she had a lazy eye… How about we put a picture of you up for the world to see and see how many flaws of yours that we can find. I just looked up Q’orianka Kilcher and she is actually EXACTLY how I pictured Leah!! Or something very close to anyways. I think she’d be AWESOME as Leah, but that’s just how I pictured her. I can’t wait to see who they cast as Seth… He is by far one of my favorite smaller characters. I wonder who they’ll pick….?????
i tried to convince my brother to play seth but he didnt want to cut his long hair, hes been growning it out since he finished chemo. hes really tan like seth and gangly too because he lost so much weight, hes tall, and is 15 too

I like her for the role! She is pretty and I think she’ll do great. I googled her of course lol and saw a pic when she looked lighter…I think somoene mentioned she should look that way [[although I think make up will do]]

For this rol I think in someone with a harder face like Michelle Rodriguez, Catalina looks to me so sweetface and young. Michelle is a fighter.

Ladies-#1 be nice. I know u know its not nice to go around calling people ugly.#2 How can u tell if she’s short or tall from a head shot? #3 tougher looking? All she has to do is ACT tough-the sweetest face can look tough when ur in a bad mood. And #4-to Sarah-thanks for remembering the spaghetti party. If the haven’t cast all the Clearwaters yet (as far as I know only Harry has bet cast) that may mean that scene may have been cut! OHHH NOOOOOOOO!!!!!
