Vampire Diaries Guide
Our newest fan site, Vampire Diaries Guide is now open. Vampire Diaries is a new TV show on the CW and its premier episode is September 10th. The story is about Elena, the new girl at Mystic Falls High. She is drawn to a handsome boy, Stefan, who also happens to be a 200 year old vampire.
The Vampire Diaries is based upon the popular book series by L.J. Smith. Yes, the books do have a few similarities to Twilight, but they were written years before Twilight was published.

I read like 45 pages from the 1st book (on Internet) and I think Elena was born in the town and Stefan is the new guy. She (Elena) is supposed to be like the most popular girl in her school or something like that. The thing is that I saw the 5 mins. commercial of the series and Elena is brunette but I read in the book that she is blond. I think the producer/director of the show changes some things so it would be more like Twilight that it was originally in the book. I will read the 1st book of “The Vampire Diaries” completely some day but I think I will always be TEAM TWILIGHT!!!

I MIGHT READ THE BOOKS BUT IT SOUNDS TO MUCH LIKE TWILIGHT AND ITS A LITTLE FUNNY THAT THE BOOKS HAVE BEEN OUT FOR OVER 18 YEARS AND THE ARE JUST NOW MAKING IT A SHOW AFTER TWILIGHT GOT MADE INTO A MOVIE AND IT IS A LITTLE FUNNY THAT THEY DID USE A BURNETTE WHEN THE CHARACTER IS SUPPOSED TO BE BLOND IF YOU ASK ME THE BOOKS MAY NOT BE LIKE TWILIGHT INTO MANY WAYS BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SEREIS IS.
i cant wait to see this. i tried to read the books but they were too boring. thank goodness for the tv show previews because i wouldnt watch it based off the books. it looks like its gonna be good. i wish twilight was a tv show. i wouldnt mind seeing edward cullen once a week.
And I know vamp diaries came out before twilight, but if it wasnt for twilight’s big boom which causes many ppl to be interested in vamps again then vamp diaries wouldnt have resurfaced.
There is also a series L.J Smith wrote called Night World series they were really really good.
i am on the third book of the series now and I like it. the vampire diaries does have similarities to twilight.
The books are about Elena, Stefan and Damon. Stefan and Damon are 200 year old vampires and brothers Stefan is the Good brother while Damon is the evil one who has embraced being a vampire they both want to be with Elena, She reminds them of the Vamp that turned them and they were in love with who died.
I don’t really want to give too much away, but there are also many differences between this series and twilight.
They have changed things from the book for the series but most series do that, True blood is a prime example.
I Like L.J. Smiths books, absolutely loved her Night World series.
I think the show looks good, at least the previews do. plus Twilight has paved the road for the rise of alot of vampire related subjects, which I’m glad it did I love my vamps

@Golden_Eyed_Girl i totally agree…I underdstand that these stories or books were made before Twilight but now they make these shows (True Blood and Vampire Diaries) after they make Twilight the movie because they want the same crazy reactions from people who like Twilight. Honestly, this is getting on my nerves because I see it everywhere now. They think everyone will be soo into their show because it has vampires but to me, I like Steph’s vamps the best so I might watch it but dont count on me to watch it…… So yes it could be very interesting but I’ve already lost some interest because of all of these shows that are coming up now because of Twilight. But when they keep making shows about vampires people might get tired of hearing about vampires (people in general) that they wont be interested in the Twilight movies…that’s what I think but whatever im just babbling..lol

oh and i suggest reading the House of Night novels by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast. they are really good. oh and theyre vampire books. but different than twilight. the first book is called Marked.

OMG YESS !!!! the books are sooo good !!!! but i think they REALLY screwed up the cast for the TV show .
1) Elena is supposed to be BLOND
2) Damon is SUPPOSED to be BIGGER, TOUGHER, and OLDER than Stefan . but, what ever . thanks for the site

I WATCHED THE first two eps of Vampire diaries, very good!!! although the main vamp guy does look simialr to edward… and he feeds on animals also..
I will get into the books as soon as I can find them over here in Perth, West Aust…. at the moment Im reading The HOUSE OF NIGHT SERIES by PC & Kristin Cast.. very good books i think, also about Vampires but very different, not all a love story.. its quite good
They should make these books into a TV series, it would be more interesting, closer to charmed, it also has bits of Native American backgrounds in it which I really like

No. Check out Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I read the first book of Vampire Diaries I really like it!
I saw the whole first series is was so hot! I got the books but i havn’t start reading them i’m planning on finishing the harry potter books first
