A Quick Guide To The New Moon Soundtrack

MTV has an article up giving you a guide to the artists on the New Moon Soundtrack. If you are like me you may not know many of the artists. The truth is I’ve only heard of Muse and The Killers, but truth is couldn’t tell you a song either of them sing except Muse’s song on the Twilight soundtrack.
The truth is I didn’t like the Death Cab for Cutie song so I’m hoping some of the others are better.

Band of Skulls (“Friends”): This White Stripes-by-way-of-Radiohead English trio formed in 2008 and released the blues-rocking Baby Darling Doll Face Honey in March. They played at this summer’s Lollapalooza festival and feature the alternating vocals of bassist Emma Richardson and guitarist Russell Mardsen.
Lykke Li (“Possibility”): Another veteran of Lollapalooza 2009, the Swedish answer to Lady Gaga has gained a legion of fans (among them MTV’s own Kurt Loder) for the intensely rhythmic and hypnotic dance music on her debut, Youth Novels.
Anya Marina (“Satellite Heart”): The San Diego-based singer/songwriter, sometime actress (“100 Girls”) and radio DJ released her second album of playfully sexy pop tunes, Slow & Steady Seduction: Phase II in January. Her songs have been featured “The Real World,” “Gossip Girl,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “How I Met Your Mother”

i am with you on the Death Cab for Cutie song. i am not a big fan. i really think movie makers could have done alot better at finding a better song to present with. also i dont know about everyone else but i am really disappointed that rpatz isnt doing anything on the soundtrack. that was such a bonus on twilight. anyway i think a good poll question would be whether or not fans like the new song. i am really curious if its just a few people or if most fans think the way we do about the song………stefanie
I had the exact same reaction! I only know the killers (human, spaceman) and muse (supermassive black hole and uprising)
I hope the rest of the songs are good, I honestly don’t know what to think of the death cab for cutie song, I’m not blown away by it, but it’s good for a background music thing

sorry it was just…weird. i hope the remixed version is ALOT better.
and i listened to the original version of ‘i belong with you’ and…i hated it
and as for ‘meet me…’ didnt really like it. it was just SO repetitive, there was no climax or anything. v disappointed. but hope the st will be good

I haven’t heard of very many of these artists either. But I’m excited to hear the soundtrack. I would have to disagree about the DCFC song. I thought it was perfect for the theme of New Moon.
i didn’t like dcfc song and the ppl in that pic look awesome
wait i was just looking at the bands there having 9 inch nails, colplay and placebo those are on my list of top 10 bands 1st is EVANESCENCE
i dont think the Death Cab for Cutie song was good either. i really like muse though, and im happy theyre on the soundtrack. i am not familiar with half these people.
Yeah, I didn’t like Death Cab For Cutie’s song either. I thought it was kinda stupid. I’m hoping I’ll totally lOvE the rest of the CD, thought!
