CHARACTER: MELANIE/WANDA
First choice: Summer Glau
Summer has played some really screwed up characters in the past, like River Tam from “Firefly” and “Serenity” and Cameron Phillips in “The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” so we know she would be able to pull off two entities battling for control of one mind. Plus, she can kick some serious ass.
CHARACTER: JARED
First Choice: Chris Pine
Jared is supposed to be the epitome of male beauty, and for anyone who saw this years “Star Trek,” you’d know Chris definitely fits that criteria. We also know, thanks to J.J. Abrams, Chris looks just as good aggressive with blood covering his face as he does being sweet and sentimental. We just know he could pull off the two sides: Melanie’s love interest and an intense Wanda hater.
CHARACTER: IAN
First choice: Brandon Routh
So what if “Superman Returns” tanked? To play a man who is able to fall in love with an alien an awesome, extraordinarily sympathetic alien, but an invading species nonetheless, takes a certain amount of empathy and restraint that were sure Brandon could pull it off. And without all the softening hues of Bryan Singer’s superhero story, Brandon would look good rugged and dirty. And let’s not forget about those gorgeous blue eyes!
Summer Glau is a good choice…but not my first pick..it should be me…lol

I must rather prefer Jensen Ackles for Jared and that guy who plays Bobby in Supernatural (and the sheriff in Harper’s Island) for Uncle Jeb. Although I never thought about Chris Pine…. I guess he would make a good Jared too. I used to think Ian Somerholder for Ian, but he’s looking too old now. Maybe for Kyle instead?

I found a very cool fan-made dvd cover for The Host! Click my name to see it. (I hope you don’t mind Leandra!) I wanted to share it because they have Jensen on the cover!!! @ Tina!!! I would LOVE to see Jensen on the big screen! Especially since this is Supernatural’s last season. Another blog kept mentioning Sophia Bush to play the main character. Even though I haven’t read the book yet. For some reason she looks the part. I don’t know, I think the fan-cover fits the book/movie!
that is so cool! that fan cover really does fit the movie. The book is a really great read, Stephenie just has a way of creating these epic characters.
jt,I read that this may not neccessarily Supernatural’s last season. I think one of the producers was saying that they may pick up again next year but with a different storyline. I hope so!

OMG! I cant wait for the host to come out in the cinima! I think the melanie choice is bad, the Jared choice is PERFECT, and im still not sure about ian, but i look forward to see who they cast for pet/wanda

Oh, my gosh, PLEASE don’t make “The Host” into a movie. Please no. It’s not MEANT to be a movie. I like the Twilight movies and all, but seriously… I don’t want the movie makers to get their dirty paws on the Host and turn it into some crappy, cheap horror/drama film. Leave it alone, please
I agree with you, Katharine. Host isn’t meant 2 be a movie. personlly, i think they screwed up twilight pretty bad, so im desperate not 2 hear bout the host as a movie. blech.
I agree with mykaela…The Host is an adult novel…a friend of mine WAS reading it and she told me that she got a little bored at the middle of the book…but idk if I can trust her and I haven’t read the book…but She hasn’t read any book from the twilight saga so I think she’s a hater…LOLZ…anyways it must be a really good book and I will try to get it cause i like the idea of two entities battling for the control of one mind…and my parents don’t really know the content of the books i read specially TWILIGHT…so id think they will care that it’s an adult novel…yay!!!

The wolves head is supposed to be “thrown back” like it’s hallowing at the moon. But, I don’t care about that, I’l not a fan of Jacob as many of you know.
