MTV has an article talking about 5 differences in the movie New Moon. Chris Weitz and Melissa Rosenberg explain to MTV why the changes. They talk Edward’s car, Grandma, Victoria, Taylor and the last scene.

Read all about it here.
There are spoilers!!!!!

Here is an explanation on Edward’s famous car:

If his lousy parking job distracted you, perhaps you didn’t notice that when Edward pulled into Forks High, his famed Volvo was no longer gray, as it was in the novels and the first movie. Hey, Chris Weitz, what gives? “I’ve taken a real spanking for this, a lot of heat,” the director explained. “I’ll tell you exactly why: Volvo wanted to give us a new, different car so I didn’t want to paint it exactly the same silver color, because then [Twilighters] would be saying, ‘Why are they trying to say that it’s the same car; it’s obviously not.’ So, I thought, ‘Well, I’ll choose a new color!’ And I thought I would choose slate black, not a reflective black, because it actually absorbs light and it would reflect the mood and melancholy and depression [of his character]. I know I got it wrong, I apologize for that. But that is my reasoning.”

I absolutely adored this movie. I hated the ending though– me, and about the entire theater (each of the 4 times i went to see it) came out cursing about the ending. Maybe that’s just me.

    Just sayin.

  6. Rachel says:

I was really disappointed when I saw Edward coming out of a black, kind of suburban-looking vehicle. I wish he kept the silver Volvo. I mean, it’s a huge part of the series!!!! But, I guess I do understand his reasoning.

is it just me that thought the movie was rally and that the bad out weighed the good the good being Taylor’s acting the wolves and there transformation and Bella screaming besides that i thought the rest was bad…… alot of jumpin from scene to scene that made no sense and yes i have read the book a couple times and i love them but the movie does no justice to those books it was just bad…… i thought it was goin to be some what good because everyone keeps sayin it good but it truly isnt but that’s just my opinion i hope david dose way better than chris did….. and you know what the whole silver volvo thing yeah i dont like the change the volvo is in every book it does make a difference they should have kept it silver…..

i thought the movie was amazing. that pays for the car. i mean, WHO CARES ABOUT THE CAR??? i was fixed on edward.

  11. kleigh says:

Wow, who actually cared that much about a car? I thought the car was sexy actually. Any car Edward came out of would be amazing. The movie needs to be able to have SOME creativity anyway!
