In an interview with MTV, Melissa Rosenberg talks about 4 things she added to the movie that wasn’t in the book.
She talks dream catcher, Harry Clearwater, Laurent and Volturi fight scene. I think all these scenes, though not in the books, definitely added to the movie and didn’t distract from it.
Get all the details at the article at MTV.
First comment!
I THINK ALL THOSE SCENCES WHERE JUST BAD………
i thought the dream catcher was in the book?? and the laurent fight scene that really happened correct me if im wrong its been a a yr since i read new moon
laurent did fight the wolves in the book, but bella doeant c any of it. she just sees the wolves appear and laurent run, then she runs back to tell charle. but in the film we get to c the fight, and bella gets to c the begining of it, and i LOVE that they added that!! doeant change anything in the story, and we get to c the action!!
yeah i agree wit you on the part i mean thats how i pretty much pictured it in my head as i read that part in the book anywayz…. yeah i know its hard enough to type fast specially wit a bby on ur lap lol
LOL, TAHNX FOR UNDERSTANDING, LOL. SOME PPL CAN GET PRETTY RUDE ON THESE BOARDS( NOT USUSALLY ON THIS SITE THO)…I AGREE, I PICTURED IT TOO
sure thing NP….i know a lot of ppl can be rude its kind of anoying we r all putting our opinion no need 2 be rude thats all im saying
…cant wait till eclipse
I think so too. I remember in the book Jacob gave Bella something like that. Maybe it was just a charm bracelet or something…I read the book 6 months ago. Forgot.
in eclipse jake gives bella a charm braclet! with a wolfe cahrm…its a graduation present! thats the only reason i didnt like the addition in new moon, because now it wont mean as much in eclipse…just like she hits paul in the film, but in the book, she doesnt hut a wolf until eclipse, when she punches jake, and breakes her hand!!
he gave her a charm bracelet in breaking dawn it was like a tiny carved wolf sumthin like that …..yeah i remember to that he gave her sumting in new moon i though it was the dream catcher….i forget 2 lol
Jacob gave Bella a bracelet with a carved wolf on it, that was in Eclise not Breaking dawn. There was no dream catcher in the book at all. Really can’t they just stick with the book?
i think they added the scene with jacob in the beginning just so people know that they´re friends!! and they talk about his car so peole know that he is good in mechanic stuff!! i mean why would she go to jacob and bring motorcycles? the beginning explains why she goes to jacob!! sort of at least…for those people who only watch the movie and don´t read the books!! i mean i read the book(more than once
) and i really get every scene in the movie!! you could see who doesn´t read the books at the scene with alice´ vision and the end of the movie!! some People just don´t get it in their heads!!!
She did an amazing job at least that’s what I thought
sorry for my typos
typing fast with a baby in my lap, lol…
i cant c the second video…says its no longer avalible…
Sorry, but as an avid fan of Twilight and a professional in the art of film making and screenwriting, I think it was the director, Chris, who saved New Moon from being as atrocious as Twilight.
Melissa Rosenberg is a terrible adapter of this series. She believes in skim-reading the books one at a time, per movie, which is why we keep seeing so many of the same things happen over and over, and why we keep seeing very far-fetched scenes pop up here and there.
I fear this has, and will, cause a lot of boredom with the movies, as people keep saying “Didn’t that happen in the last film?”, or “When did that happen in the book?”… I realize that many adaptations of books do not stay completely true to their stories, but to completely change and add things in a series we all know and love is just torture. I wish someone else had been chosen to write these screenplays, or at least wish Rosenberg had had the patience to have read the entire series before deciding to demolish it.
Unfortunately we will have to overlook the constant re-occurrences we will see in the film saga. I still love Twilight, and will still go and see both Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, even if Rosenberg does slaughter the story…
…
I have to agree with u Candace…i dont think dhe is horrible, but ya, i do wish there was another writter! like the fact that taylor and kristen had to beg for the movie scene to get into the film(in my opinon one of the best scenes in the book), meand that it was left completly out of the script! AND I JUST READ THAT CHRIS DECIDED TO PUT THE PROPOSAL IN!!! BECAUSE MELISSA R LEFT IT OUT OF THE SCRIPT!!!!!!!! she thought wed be fine without it because it focuses so much o it in eclipse!!! I WOULD HAE BEEN PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!COULD U INAGINE, EDWARD GETS BACK FROM ALMOST KILLING HIMSELF, AND…THE MOVIE ENDS…THANK GOD FOR CHRIS W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so do you have any idea if this lady is still going to do the screen plays for the rest of the twiligth saga movies??
i agree wit u i meani read all books n i knew that when it came to film it wouldnt all fit in an hour or so but i feel
that this lady made the scenes long and added stuff where she shouldnt have like those full three minutes of victoria just running on screen
that was in my opinion a waste of time
i mean the movie was great dont get me wrong i just think there is a lot of space for improvement
I mean dont these writters know the only reason why millions of ppl line up for days in huge lines is to see their favorite books come to visual life
so WHY!!! would they want to change it
KEEP IT as CLOSE to the bOOK AS you caN get n THE FANS WILL BE HAPPY!!!
I agree with all of you with everything that’s been said. ” Show me the love” or “don’t hate the truck” that is so wrongly off!! can they just get somebody else? she didn’t do her job on the first one already and now this! I’m so frustrated, why can they stick to the book?
