What scenes should definitely be in the Eclipse Movie?

One of our readers, Arianna, found this at goodreads.com. It’s a list of scenes from the Eclipse book that they think should definitely be in the movie.

What scene are you most looking forward to seeing in the movie. I’m sure most of the regulars readers here know I am dying to see the tent scene. It is my favorite scene in the entire series!!!!
1. Charlie passing notes between Bella and Jacob. – To me this just shows how bad things got between Jacob and Bella. And just how bad its hurting Jacob (Arggg, I cant believe I just said that because I am so not a Jacob fan. Team Edward all the way!!)
2. All of the newspaper articles about Seattle. – If we didn’t have this then a lot of people who didn’t read the book would be very lost.
3. The trip to see Renee. – I think this is a must because, otherwise Renee would never see how Bella and Edward act together.
4. The English note conversation.- Ok I’ll admit it, this isn’t a major thing but I just love the scene so much. I had to throw it in here, plus it’s a good follow up on the trip.
5. Save the Olympic Wolf/ Jacob scene – This Scene shows how much Bella misses Jacob and the fact that you have to work fast when there’s a psychic vampire involved.
6. Angela and Bella – Its nice to see Bella hang out with other people, other than the Cullens.
7. Alice kidnapping Bella – The amazing Porsche finally comes into play. Bella and Alice get to spend more time together. Also Rosalie becomes a little bit like-able.
8. Jacobs school rescue. – it’s a nice little touch.
9. (MIA) Room – When they really start to realize that someone is after Bella
10. Knife incident – Edward gets to be light-hearted and funny.
11. Bon fire – Bella first gets the idea of the third wife
12. Jasper’s Story – Who doesn’t love hearing about Jasper’s past, plus it helps Bella understand being a newborn vampire a little bit more
13. The kiss – Jacob trying to make Bella realize that she loves him to, so he kisses her. Really how can this not be in it. And a bonus Emmett gets to have his very famous funny line.
14. The bet – I know that this one is small, but I like it
15. Graduation/party – A lot happens Bella figures out some major information and everyone finally gets to see the Cullens’ house. Jacob also makes Bella a bracelet (which I own)
16. Training – MAJOR
17. Comprise – MAJOR, MAJOR. Hello this is like the biggest must have ever. I say every little detail should be in the movie.
18. The tent – Bella realizes she loves both Jacob and Edward
19. The fight – need I say more
20. Poor Jacob – Jacob’s whole right side of his body is broken. Bella gets to spend time with him alone. it’s a very cute scene
21. Planning – Alice finds out she gets to plan a wedding.

not to be gross but i believe the bed scene between edward and bella should be put in the eclipse movie!!! omg that is the best scene in the whole book!!! and just a little bit of info! OMG TOTALLY! they must put it in!!!! best scene ever!!!! compromise is like the best chapter in the whole seriesssss!! its rly cute too when he proposes! and i dont think that scene would make it R at all. that type of stuff is in like all pg13 movies, cause nothing happens anyway. so it better be fairly close to the book, or i will be upset.

i love this list, but what they dont post that i love to see is when alice tricks bella to let her plan the wedding… i think that was the very essence of Alice.. that should be in it too

I think they should add where bella and jacob have their 2nd kiss and bella realises shes in love with him, and the heart break from where bella comes home from visiting jacob after the fight where he’s injured which causes edward pain (yey! pain 4 edward- stupid vamp, jake is soo much better : ) rofl)

We’re already sure that the meadow-scene will be in the movie, ’cause there already is a still from that scene (except if they decide to delete it, but then I’d be very very very disappointed!)..
yeah, i know its already in, but the WHOLE part has to be in it, it wouldnt be the real medow scene if it wasnt the whole part, and the part where he proposes, rosalies and jaspers stories… the fight scene, of course:D
THE TENT SCENE! for sure! And when she gets back from telling jake it wont happen and shes real torn up, and i want when edward comes for her in her car and drives the rest of the way. And definitley the bonfire, the graduation, the party, and when jake kisses bella nad then she punches him and when edward comes to get her to take her to carlisle.
I agree with all of those scenes! You just gotta love ‘em! Eclipse is my favourite book in the series and i PRAY that they will keep it as close to the book as possible. Another scene that I loved in the book was the scene where Bella and Edward and in Bella’s room and Bella is on the computer and it’s going very slowly and she’s getting impatient and taps her fingers on the desk. Then Edward stops her fingers and asks, “Impatient today, are we?” and she turns around to give him a smart remark and he’s closer to her than she thought and he kisses her. It’s not like a very important scene, i just think it’s absolutely adorable. And also when Bella and Edward are arguing over something and then Charlie walks by and says, “Well if you two are having a fight, don’t let me interrupt.” or something like that. It would show how Charlie doesn’t like Edward now after what he did to Bella in New Moon(with good intentions). =)

I think that the bedroom scene between Edward and Bella should be present. I mean it is the OFFICIAL proposal. That’s my favorite part.
Me too! I loved it when he gave her the ring and tells her they can go to Vegas if she wants too but then Alice makes Bella feel guilty and Bella lets her plan the wedding!

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t remember #10 the knife incident.
I completely agree with everything else as a must for the movie and I really want to see the note passing in english class and the bet. And they have to have the almost ending when the Volturi show up after the fighting. Also, I hope they show Rosalie’s backstory.
Bella is cleaning dishes and jake is there (edward obviously left) and then jake is helping her bella says something to get jake mad and he slices his hand with the knife…haha love that scene team edward =)
i hope they put the scene were bella tells edward that jacob kissed her. i love that part. (Jacob) “may the best man win” (Edward) ” sounds about right pup” i love it.

yeah that line was kinda funny… and i know this is late but it reminded me of new moon when he made the compromise, what he deal was if he was to change her and said, “bella i just proposed to you and you think its a joke”
I hope they show the one with Rosalie’s story. I actually cried on that part. LOL! I love the scene when Charlie gave Bella the sex talk and Edward knew it beforehand. I also want the scene when Edward comes over and they talk about college plans. My favorite is when Edward told Chrlie about the tickets for Florida and Bella was so embarrased LOLLLLL! Eclipse is my favorite book out of the series I hope the movie will be great. TEAM EDWARD!!

The bed scene would not make it rated R.They should have that scene I like it.Also they should have the scene were Bella punches Jacob and she brakes her hand,then Edward thrins Jacob.I loooooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeee that scene!
Well for me the best scene in the book is the part where Bella punches Jacob and she calles Edward and the following ensues…Where Edward basically tells Jacob that if he ever brings her back damaged his head will roll…I love that scene and is pivotal to the plot…
they def. need to have rosalies and jaspers stories, cause those are huge scenes in the book, they basically explain everything about the way they act and their personality.(: those were all great!! im so excited to see the movie.(: i can tell its going to be epic!!! TEAM EDWARD!!!!
I really want to see the part with Edward and Alice playing chess.It’s hilarious! Just the idea of Rob and Ashley starring at a chess board playing in their minds.

I think the conversation of how Alice and Jasper met should definitely be in it! It shows the love and bond between to mated vampires, other than vampire and human couple Bella & Edward.
They need to have some of the light hearted material, esp. with Bella and Edward. Eclipes is the one book where everyone can be themselves.
I hope they put the bed scene and proposal scene in there.

I would love to see Alice begging bella to do the wedding!! I also would like to see, edward and bella in the woods, when she has to leave a trail for the newborns, those are some of my favorites, Eclipse is my FAVORITE BOOK!!!! Can’t wait to see it, no matter what they put in it

Well I think the should not leave out anything. I would be willing to sit through a long movie just to get all the secenes. But I have to agree with all these people that is complaying about if it is made rated R, I mean come on if they read the book then it would be no diffrent. With what is on TV now a days they would see more then in any of the Twilight movies.

One of my favorite “scenes” ..which I GUESS is in there with “Training” is when Bella is warming up to Jacob in his wolf form, and he licks her! When I read that I laughed out loud and immediately told my Husband that I hoped that part would be in the movie! (He just rolls his eyes).
I’m pretty sure they will include the actual proposal/bed scene, but it may be MINUS the parts of undressing. I doubt Summit would risk making Eclipse get rated “R” when they KNOW so many of their fans are under 17.

P.S. Although I’d like EVERYTHING in the book included in the movie (Eclipse was my FAVE book in the saga)….I sadly tend to doubt they will include many details about Jasper and Rosalie’s stories. I’m sure they realize people’s main interest are in the main characters, so when stuff starts hitting the cutting room floor, those may be the first things to go. =(
The only scene I don’t want to see/will look away is when Jacob (orcfully) kisses Bella and when Bella asks him! Eww! I would hate being Kristen then! And Bella should wash her mouth after she kissed him D: Ugh!

OMG i would LOVE to see the flashbacks about jasper(and how he met alice. ADORABLE) and rosalie’s story. and also when bella punched jacob and broke her hand. and OF COURSE i can’t ever forget the tent scene: very dramatic and meaningful, omg AND….when edward kidnapps bella and they propose! ^_^ <3
Team Alice i loved your response she should no offence to the Jacob lovers but it’s all about Edward Cullen! what about the engagement scene. I want that in there. ZDoes #5 stand for the part when Bella tries to go to jacob’s but Edward stops her. I thought that was hilarios!
Woah, why all the hating on Jacob? That kiss (the one where she asks him) is a pivotal moment! That’s when Bella AND everyone watching/reading realize that Bella indeed LOVES Jacob and KNOWS she could be happy with him. It makes the fact that there is a CHOICE to be made more REAL for everyone in the story and everyone reading/viewing it. Sure, she chooses Edward, but what’s the point of a “love triangle” if the choice is so obvious there isn’t even a choice at all? The suspense wouldn’t be there unless we felt there were REAL CONNECTIONS between Bella and BOTH guys. This is what makes the books so great! Face it, without Jacob… it’s BORING.
It doesn’t matter about the choices, with Stephenie’s vampire bond/love you can’t choose anyone else, it’s not actually your choice. It would tear her to pieces to choose Jacob.
i kno rite but i would like to see her with jacob but then edward would be all sad but they all get their happy ending in breaking dawn…YAY!!!!!!!!!:D

I want to see the bedroom proposal, Jasper and Alice’s meeting and some interactions between Bella and Charlie. He provides some of the funnier moments in all the movies. Also, Cullens, Cullens, Cullens. I enjoy the wolves but missed the Cullens in New Moon. Eclipse is my favorite book and I’d bet it will be my favorite movie, too!
OMG I am sooo excited for Eclipse. I just want June 30 to come all ready. I want to see the movie so badly…..no wait scratch that…I just want the trailors already!!! I am sooo looking forward to the proposal scene, when Bella punches Jacob, Jasper and Rosalie’s flash backs, and Alice kidnapping Bella. And I also look forward to more of Emmett as well. Maritza … Bella doesn’t love Jacob “like” she loves Edward. It’s 2 very different kinds of love. Which is WHY she is confused, because she knows she LOVES them both; just in different ways. Even Edward is aware that Bella and Jacob have a special connection. That’s what makes it exciting! You can be “really mad” when Bella kisses Jacob, but it’s still a pivotal moment.

the scene i REALLY want to be in there, is the one when Bells tells Jake she cant be with him, and she’s in bed later w/ Edwards and is Balling her eyes out and he says “are you sure you made the right decision” and she sobs “yes, i know who i cant live without” UGH i love that scene. plus it shows how much she loves Jake, but it REALLY shows how much she loved Edward. CANT WAIT FOR ECLIPSE

I know like a bunch of ppl have said this already but absolutely rosalie’s story cuz I think its kinda funny tht she killed those guys in her wedding dress when I read tht I was like yeah u go girl kick some jerk butt lol!! And u get to know why rosalies so protective of bella in breaking dawn oh yeah and I don’t get y spelling matters so much to some of u guys cuz u can understand wat they r saying but maybe thts just me idk haha o yeah today’s my birthday 13 lol just thought I’d let ya know

In the script.. They made Jacob and bellas kiss is really good to be honest.. i know it was only a first draft.. but i thought it was great how they done the kiss!

I agree. I hope they keep that part in. It was beautiful, exactly as I’d imagined. Overall, I was pretty happy with that script, which makes me believe the movie is going to be the best of the three. Can’t wait!

The scenes i would really like to see is the Tent scene, and the part where Edward gets all angsty with Jacob, over Bella’s broken fingers. I love the part where he says something like ‘i’m not going to kill you in front of Bella’.
But if im honest, no matter what they put in there, i’ll still be going numerous times!

they have to have the scene when bella and edward are there with victora and riley. and the scene when bella cuts her arm with the rock to help seth out. and when jacob is about to leave to fight bella tells him to kiss her.
i think lose are all great scenes to put in ECLIPSE love them all (coz i love the whole book of course).
i agree with jessica on the scenes that shes put they all have to be in it especially the scene when jacob is about to leave to go to the fight and tricks bella into kissing him that HAS TO BE IN IT its quite funny as well.

I say #5(Save the Olympic Wolf Scene) Should NOT be on there. Y’all know that some of us hate Jacob and don’t want to see him that much in the movie. It’s not the actor, but the character that makes it that way.
Growl – can’t we all just get along (yeah TEAM EDWARD!) – I agree that they need to have some scenes with Jacob (tent scent, Jacob kissing Bella and her punching him and breaking her hand and Edward threatening Jacob) but hope they include ALL the important Bella/Edward scenes too (compromise/proposal, trip to see Renee, leg hitch) as well as lots of Cullen scense – I missed them. I know Kellen said we will be amazed with Rob’s abs in Eclipse so I am hoping it will be the bedroom scene!

Well Jasper’s story IS gonna be in it and it will be told in flashbacks! I can’t wait! It kinda goes along with the whole training thing anyway. And I think they are gonna have the tent scene. I am pretty sure they will! I know I will be laughing the whole time! I can’t wait till Eclipse! It was my fave book of the Saga, and I am sure it will be the best movie! In my opinion that is. XD
