LA Times has an interview with Chris Weitz.

He talks about Vampire Bella in New Moon and how he wished he would have done something else.

Read it all here.

Here is an excerpt:

So, what would Weitz have done differently, if he had it to do it all over again?

“I wouldn’t have shot Bella running through the forest with Edward, because I’ve never been at a screening of the film in which people didn’t laugh at it,” Weitz told me. “My heart sinks every time I hear that.”

So if he had the change to do it again, how would he reveal Stewart for the first time as a sparkly-skinned vampire?

“I think I would’ve shot it in a much simpler way, and have it be an extreme close-up on Kristen and her eyes. She’s got a great face, and that would’ve been very satisfying. But I’m a sap,” Weitz said.

Wish he would have done that too. I laughed my butt off in the theater (I was gonna say fanny, but if you are reading this Becky you know why I’m not, LOL)

Hated that scene!!!

Thanks Matt!

laugh.. I liked it.. I guess I’m missing something

    was awesome :D :D .. <3

  2. becky says:

im still cracking up over the fanny/butt thing it makes me blush when i hear it even though we call “that” much worse names than fanny lol phil was coming up with more UK words to throw at you. back to new moon
you know i wet myself whenever i see that scene in new moon it looks so fake compared to the rest of the film. IM going to eat my Chocolate bar, whilst having a fag talking posh with my pint of bitter. LOL translate that

  3. becky says:

your spot on, and it was great talking to you earlier.
back to this scene, they did not look like they were hunting just running through the woods, the clothes didnt fit either, each time i went to the cinema everyone laughed, there is just something not quite right and if the director agrees they hey im down with that lol

    • Leandra says:

woo hoo Im a fast learner!!!
      Great talking to you too

haha! that scene was so funny! i had a feeling i shouldnt have been laughing, but it was just soooo funny!

    • mykaela says:

it just the way they running, and they were all happy and not really perky, maybe happy-go-lucky. i didnt laugh the first time…but the three times after that i was cracking up!

      • Team Alice & Jasper says:

Ah-gree!!! :D i didn’t laugh the first time, but everyone else did!!! i laughed all the other times though. I think it was because the slow motion and cloths….. i think they should have put Bella with red eyes and pale skin, just like Chris said :D other then that i LOVED the movie, that was the only flaw in it :D can’t wait for Eclipse ;)

  5. Tina says:

I can see how it was funny and a little silly, but I liked it. To me, it was just Bella and Edward blissfully happy. What do you do when you have an eternity with the person you love the most? You frolic in the forest :)

ok, on second thought maybe it was pretty silly. I didn’t laugh at the time though. I think I was too shocked they showed that type of scene to laugh

  6. Jackie!! Team Jakeward (: says:

I actually liked thath scene i just loove the way bella’s eyes look amazing and really funny too LOL

  7. Jackie!! Team Jakeward (: says:

    sorry that*

  8. Lauren says:

As much as I hated that scene, I feel sorry for the poor guy!

  9. JoCiiCullen says:

no! not change: S please, we read the book know that this tells the story and it was better that those of us fans wanted to see on the screen! this perfectly well the film is the best director of Twilight which may have i love NEW MOON

  10. Team Edward* says:

What scene was that?!?!? When did that happen?!

  11. Grusome The Twi-Guy says:

I was the only one in the theatre that didn’t laugh at that scene, i was more thinking “what the hell was that?! aro needs to lay off the junkie meals” i also wondered what chris was thinking because it was a more embarrassing scene then funny… to me anyway.

  12. Mrs.Pattinson-Lautner ;) says:

I knew this was meant to be a serious scene so I felt so bad laughing at it!!

  13. Laur says:

i agree with Weitz he shoulda changed it and made it simpler

  14. Team Edward* says:

Dido. Everyone laughed at that scene, and until this day I could never figure out why. :] lol

  15. darrian guerrero says:

i liked that scene a to say the truth i don’t see what wass so funny about at all,but it’s ya’lls thought

  16. stephani says:

here’s a tip. the next time you watch this scene pay attention to kristen’s face. the way her face looks is what makes it funny and kinda corny. its her smile. but don’t get me wrong i love kristen and all but thats what allways make me laugh. but other than that new moon was awesome. way better than twilight

  17. Lilo says:

I liked this scene too. It’s romantic and where does all this perfection comes from? so what he didn’t make it as you wished, but this was still a wonderful scene. I felt bad for thouse who was laughing. Didn’t have anything better to do huh? I enjoyed New Moon til the very end.

  18. shaharEB says:

it was a bit wierd and embarrassing///:
    it was unnecessary-
they should have put bella and alice standing next to each other-looking the same!
and it would have been perfect..
i have to say when i saw it i really laughed!

  19. Sarah says:

Huh…I don’t remember laughing at that scene. Yeah, it was cheesy, but honestly? Think about some of the dialogue in the Twilight series haha.

  20. MelissaBlack says:

i really liked it, i knew it was coming because i had seen a sneek peek somewhere and i saw a photo of it. i really liked it. dont be sad chris! we still love you! x x

  21. Julia says:

Well, actually, I really liked that scene. My friend thought it was really cheesy, but I like it. I think Chris did a better job filming than Catherine. But, both movies were awesome!
