A number of names have been thrown around about who may direct Breaking Dawn. Now M. Night Shyamalan has been added to the list.

Read the article at MTV.

Here is an excerpt:

Well I’m here today to make things even more confusing. This isn’t an official possibility on the table for Summit — as far as we know — but a noteworthy filmmaker professed his love for Stephenie Meyer’s vampire series in a chat on the Kid’s Choice Awards red carpet over the weekend: M. Night Shyamalan.

“I would’ve loved to be– I love the series, and Catherine [Hardwicke's] movie, it was one of my favorite movies of that year,” he said. “Really, I thought tonally, it was a perfect movie. I called her up after I saw ‘Twilight’ and was like ‘That was amazing.’ So I’m a big fan.”

Out of all the names you have heard so far are their any you would prefer?

  2. Ashley says:

I think if M. Night Shyamalan was chosen to direct breaking dawn it would have the exact feeling from the book! he is a fan so he knows what the fans will want for the movie. his movies are great. Breaking Dawn is by far the best book of the series and has so much going on. I am sure everyone is most looking foward to the wedding/honeymoon scenes and of course bella finding out she is carrying edwards half human half vampire baby!

  3. Dee says:

Now that they threw his name in. I would definitely love it if was the one to direct Breaking Dawn

  5. kelly says:

  6. Christy says:

He is a good director, but only for the movies that he also writes and produces… I don’t see him doing a good job on Breaking Dawn- hopefully they’ll get someone else :)

  7. claudya says:

well..he’s a fan too so i think he knows what we want to see on the screen..

  8. Kelly Black says:

  9. Mihi says:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOT HIM GOSHH PLEASE NO!

  10. Mel Cullen says:

His first couple of films were fabulous… Since, Lady in the Water came out I think his movies, emotions that are being portrayed to the audience and the plots have gone downhill….

  11. Team Alice & Jasper says:

thats cool!!!!!!!!!! he does AWSOME movies :D

  12. Shelly M says:

Ok ya, I can totally see M.Night doing this film! not to mention he’s also directed Jackson Rathbone in “The Last Airbender” coming out soon~! I think He would totally do this final piece of Twilight justice!

  13. teresa hall says:

Look, Breaking Dawn Book is one hell of a kick ass book!We need a director that will put ALOT of the bookin the movie. Twilight and New Moon are some good movies, but there ARE some gaps in it also; so , whoever does BREAKING DAWN needs to put ALOT of the book in it.For it would make one ass kicking movie, that will keep you in your seat!!!

  14. jj says:

PLEASE NOT HIM!!!! HES SOOOO TERRIBLE!!!! I MUCH RATHER HAVE ANY OF THE OTHER DIRECTORS THEY HAVE CHOSEN, THE OTHER ONES ARE GREAT… BUT NOT HIM!!!!!

  15. Arianna says:

NOOOOOOOOO…. i do not like him, the only movie i like is the 6th sence all the other ones are crap..

  16. stephanie says:

NOO! I agree with whoever said his first few movies I love, but the last few have been pretty bad if you ask me! I don’t think i would even see Breaking Dawn if he directed it!

  17. Ashley Washington says:

he is such a great director

  18. mickie0513 says:

i’m going to have to agree with those that have said NOOOOOO! his past few movies just weren’t that great and honestly i don’t think he’s that great of a director. there are way more better directors out there and with the saga getting so big i’m sure they could get a great name!

please please NOOOOO!! let’s get someone with talent, hell bring back chris weitz if need be!

  19. Team Jakeward says:

Hayyy dont you guys reakon rosalie’s hair looks way better in eclipse. i didnt really like her hair in New Moon but love the braided hair!!
    YER RANDOM!!!

  20. angwe0105 says:

My first thought: Oh H*** NO!!! The Village??? Stupid! And whats that one where the plants make people kill themselves… Marky, Mark was in it?? Lets be honest- They were soooooooooooooo incredibly STUPID. But didn’t M Night also write them??? So my second thought, if his writing privedges are revoked, Breaking Dawn has a chance…

Still it is my favorite book in the series, I don’t want it destroyed the way Catherine did Twilight.

What about James Cameron (He did a great job on Avatar, Titanic, etc) or Chris Weitz for Breaking Dawn…

  21. msWiNGO says:

I really hope that he isn’t on the for real table for this. Everything he produces is good, but it always has this huge twist on it and Breaking Dawn has enough twists that he doesn’t need to add to it. For all we know, he would probably end up convincing everyone that this whole story is a dream! Ugh!

  22. Slinkiee says:

    Just say no.

  23. twilighter18 says:

NOOOO!!!!!! THAT IS THE WORST IDEA IN THE HISTORY OF TIME! while breaking dawn is a little dark at times, its mostly lovey dovey! he would ruin a lot of lives

  24. Rob Sessed says:

YOu have got to freakin be kiddin me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE ONLY MOVIE HE DIRECTED THAT WAS WORTH A CRAP WAS THE SIXTH SENSE. All the others sucked big weiners. Really I want all that time wasted watching movies he directed back. I WANT MY TIME BACK HE SUCKS!! Please don’t let him direct even one scene of breaking dawn!!
