The Hunger Games grabbed the top spot in MTV’s list of Most Anticipated Movies Of 2012, but Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 grabbed the second spot.

The penultimate “Twilight” flick may not have made our list of the best movies of 2011, but it’s hard to argue there was a more memorable scene — by which we mean totally goddamn bonkers — than the sequence when pregnant Bella Swan goes into labor and Edward Cullen, after realizing that a mere scalpel can’t free their vampire/human spawn, goes to work on his wife’s womb with his fangs. Blood is spilled, gasps and/or guffaws are unleashed by moviegoers (depending on each one’s relative level of Twi-hardness), and cinematic history is made.” — E.D.

How is it stepping into the role of a centuries-old vampire? How do you prepare for something like that?

The role comes from Romania over 3,000 years ago. They didn’t have the same Romanian dialect as it is today because 3,000 years ago there was Greek, Roman, and Slavic influences. We had to learn Romanian dialect, switch it around, and add those things in so it would be a little more genuine to the time when they were human. That was the hardest thing because it doesn’t exist. You have to make it up.

How easy is it to let all the Twilight stuff go, leaving the cast and knowing it’s all coming to an end — the franchise that made your career?

“It’s different. Whenever we’d finish filming any of the other movies we’d be bummed, but we knew that it was just a matter of a few months before we’d be back filming another one. So, when we wrapped these last two it was tough for us because we’d been playing these characters for so long and spending so much time together for so long. It was a little emotional, but the good news we’ll be able to promote it all together for the next year and a half.”

How was the last day of shooting the final scene of the Twilight films?

“It was emotional for sure, yeah. My last day of shooting I was by myself, and so that was kind of sad, but my second to last day I did a scene with me, Rob (Pattinson) and Kristen (Stewart).”
