Alexandra Patsavas talks New Moon Soundtrack

Music Supervisor Alexandra Patsavas talked to Spin Magazine about the New Moon Soundtrack.

How you go about something like New Moon, which features original songs from so many artists who don’t often appear in projects this high-profile?
The work starts as soon as the script is finished and distributed. Chris Weitz, the director, had a very specific point of view about how he wanted the music to feel. There’s a lot of separation and longing and loss in the movie; the bands and lyrics and sound and arrangements had to reflect that. Some folks, like Lykke Li, the Killers, Grizzly Bear, OK Go, and Anya Marina all came into the cutting room and sat with Chris to watch the movie and talk about their contributions. Other tracks were submitted with the movie in mind. I think it’s very difficult to succeed without any context.

The tour kicks off with a massive shindig at LA’s Hollywood & Highland mall, featuring performances by Death Cab For Cutie, Band of Skulls, Sea Wolf and Anya Marina, as well as a Q&A session with some of the cast members. Musical performances and the Q&A session are open to the public

They are pretty sweet. Loving my wolf boys and I think the one with Bella is gorgeous, just do!! There is another one of Bella, one Edward, one Aro and one of my boy Jacob!!!

New Trailer Page added to site

Hey guys Leandra here.

We have added a new page to the site. It collects all in one page all the New Moon trailers, clips and TV spots for New Moon. It also has the videos for the wolf pack and Volturi featurettes and the music videos for Meet Me on the Equinox and Satellite Heart. As more stuff is released I will add it to the page. Now you can see everything Summit has released in one spot.

POLLS:

OK here is an update on our site polls. As you may have noticed they have been missing for a few days and are off the site. For some reason they kept crashing the site. I love the polls and I know you guys do to because I love seeing what everyone else thinks.

Jamey is looking into the problem and trying to find a solution and hopefully we can. If not it looks like the polls might not come back because they keep crashing the site and people can’t visit. I hope he finds a fix though!!

UPDATE:

Jamey has played around with the polls. We have added the poll back to the side bar. We are gonna see if this fixed the problem. If it does we will re-add the poll button so you can see the results of other polls we have had on our site. If this does fix the problem cool! The only drawback, you will no longer be able to vote in previous polls we have had just the current one. You will still be able to see the results from old polls though.

Hope this works!!
