National Post article on spoof directing ideas for “New Moon”…Amusing
The National Post Canada has an amusing article up on “New Moon”. They list 7 famous directors pitch for the movie. They are spoofs and quite funny.
Below are my two favorites:
Michael Bay:
The film opens up with booming cannons and a massive explosion. The vampires have taken over the American government and now Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis, playing a mismatched team of grissled fighter pilots, must infiltrate the blood-sucking cabal and make the country safe for abstinence-practicing Christian teens.
M. Night Shyamalan:
Our heroine is confused, she’s suffered, so when she meets this dream-like boy she looks beyond his shortcomings — his “vampireness” — and sees instead someone she has to save. The movies pacing will be slow and plodding, until the final twelve minutes where — get this — our heroine is actually a wolf.
Go here to read the article and see what the rest of the directors would pitch. I hope you enjoy the article I was quite amused.
Official statement from Summit about Catherine
The Official Twilight Movie Site has been updated with a statement from Summit about Catherine Hardwicke not directing “New Moon”.
The statement reads:
As most of you have already heard, Catherine Hardwicke will not be returning to direct NEW MOON.
Summit and Catherine worked hard to make schedules work, but ultimately the decision to bring the fans the next chapter as soon as possible would not fit with Catherine’s schedule.
We will miss Catherine’s involvement, but please know that Summit and Stephenie Meyer will make sure the next director to take the reins will have the same devotion and respect for the property and the fans.
It is our priority at Summit to make sure the TWILIGHT saga proceeds with the fans in mind.
We appreciate the overwhelming support you have given us, and look forward to working with you on NEW MOON.
Thank you!
