J-14 Magazine continues their New Moon Countdown with an interview with Jackson Rathbone. He talks about Jasper attacking Bella.
J-14: Jackson, you in particular have a much more crucial role in this movie. What was it like for you to go lurching at Kristen Stewart and be fought off by Rob Pattinson? Was it as intense as it looks?
Jackson Rathbone: Yeah, it was as intense as it looked and a little bit more actually. I don’t want to give too much away but both Kellan [Lutz] and Peter [Facinelli] had to hold me back through that scene. It was one of those scenes that we talked before and I really wanted to go all out and it was great getting to work with the guy doing the stunt stuff with Rob, Peter, and Kellan, because they actually held me back. They actually stop me from getting hurt because if they hadn’t held me back I would have taken Kristen down.
J-14: Kristen would have been a goner, huh?
Jackson: Oh yeah!

Here is some more interviews from J-14 and their New Moon Countdown.

Jackson Rathbone talks Vampires v/s Werewolves.
Read it all here.
Here is an excerpt:
J-14: Going from Twilight to New Moon, there’s definitely a shift in focus from vampires to werewolves. How did that effect the chemistry on the set — do you feel like you had to take a backseat?
Jackson Rathbone: Not really. It was one of those things when we came back for New Moon, it was like a family reunion because we are like a family. We do eat together, play together, and what not. It was kind of like we came back in for a good two or three weeks, we did our piece and then we left and then the story really got taken over by Taylor Lautner playing Jacob Black — and he just does an incredible job.

Nikki Reed talks about her costars.
Read the whole thing here.
Here is an excerpt:
J-14: If you had to come up with one word to describe each of the vampire guys in your movie fam, what would it be for Kellan?
Nikki: Teddy-bear.
J-14: Jackson?
Nikki: Artsy.
J-14: Peter Facinelli?
Nikki: Dad!
J-14: Rob?
Nikki:: Hmm, yeah, Rob’s complicated!
J-14: Is there a story behind that
Nikki: One that I shall not speak of!

Hollywood Outbreak has an audio interview with Nikki Reed, Kellen Lutz, Ashley Greene and Elizabeth Reaser.
Listen to the Audio Interview here.
Thanks Alice!!!
Movies Online has an interview with Kristen Stewart.
You can read it here.
Here is an excerpt:
Q: The scenes with Victoria in this are really harrowing. What has it been like working with Bryce Dallas Howard in that role in Eclipse?
Stewart: Really good. Bryce is scary. She’s really oddly sweet as well. So it’s funny to see her switch back and forth, but Victoria for Bella is like an ever present fear. Even when Victoria is not around, she’s scared that she’s coming back. Bryce is such a good actress and it was easy to be scared of her.
They also have an interview with Robert Pattinson here.
Go here to read an interview with Taylor Lautner.
Thanks Deb!!
Twilight Examiner, Twilight Series Theories, Twilight Facebook, Twilight Moms, His Golden Eyes, Twilighters, Twilighters Anonymous, Twilight Superfan, Twilight Source/Imprint, Twilight Lexicon and Bella and Edward had a phone interview with Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, And Nikki Reed.
You can read a transcript of the interview at Twilight Lexicon.
Here is an excerpt:
Q. What was your favorite scene to film in ‘New Moon’?
Jackson:
I’ve got to say my favorite scene to film was in the trailer and you got to see a glimpse of it. And that wasn’t even quite the entire scene so hopefully you know, people are still going to be surprised by the scene of the birthday party whenever. In my mind it’s kind of the catalyst for the entire idea of ‘New Moon’, and the Cullens kind of getting out of Dodge, if you excuse my tongue there. It’s kind of the idea that you know, finally Bella is really having to face the idea of what it is to be in a relationship with a vampire and the downside of it you know, what happens when you get something as simple as a paper cut and how that can screw everything up. And suddenly the Cullens are gone and we take off in order to protect Bella and it’s one of those things where she doesn’t really feel protected, she feels abandoned, but luckily she’s got her good friend, Jacob Black, who starts to become a little bit more than just a good friend. You see that whole side of things, the wolf boys.

They also have a short interview with Jackson Rathbone, Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz about the Cullens’ real-life thirst for food. Here is what they had to say:
J-14: We’re so excited to be talking to all the Cullens together — so in what ways are you like an actual family?
Jackson Rathbone: We eat together all the time. Like a family dinner, you know?
Nikki Reed: Yeah, that’s the big thing. We eat together.
J-14: Do you guys cook for one another?
Jackson: Oh well, Peter [Facinelli] is probably the best cook out of all of us.
Nikki: Peter is the best cook, although I come in a close second.

Jackson Interview

MTV has another interview with Jackson Rathbone. He talks his character and new characters who have joined the cast.
Here is an excerpt:
MTV: Out of the new characters joining the franchise for “New Moon,” which is your favorite?
Jackson Rathbone: My favorite character in “New Moon” that wasn’t in “Twilight”? I guess my favorite character in “New Moon” is a collective — the Volturi. It’s one of those things that’s really nice to see, these decadent older vampires that run this vampire society, if you will. I think they’re an amazing group of actors that we were able to get for the film, and they are very scary and intimidating. They’re all perfect — I mean, Dakota Fanning is a terrifying Jane; absolutely terrifying.

Jackson Rathbone has another interview with MTV, I missed this one so thanks to our reader Alice for sending me the link.
In the interview Jackson talks all about his role and scenes in Eclipse.
You can get all the details at MTV.
Here is an excerpt:
“I got to go back into my old roots, got to ride some horses again, which was nice. Got to put these riding boots to use, which is good,” Rathbone said, motioning to his boots. “I actually can ride a horse.”
Jasper’s backstory, which takes place during the Civil War, will be told through flashbacks, Rathbone confirmed. Though the explanation of Jasper’s history takes up a good portion of the novel, he hinted that the film version would be shorter.
“It was just really fantastic to get to delve in there and to get to don all the Civil War regalia and whatnot. That was a pleasure,” he said. “I had to wear this wool suit of a major, cavalry major. “I got the big hat and everything. Hop off the horse, bow to these ladies, and then I get eaten. And then I get turned!”
Thanks again Alice. I can’t wait to see all the flashbacks in Eclipse. I think it is gonna be very sweet!!!

NewCon Festival

in Cast & Characters, Music

This is a press release for the NewCon Festival:
“As if it wasn’t enough to have the biggest movie of the year hitting theaters next month, New Moon star, Jackson Rathbone, is adding a music festival to his to do list. Rathbone and some of his fellow cast members will be hosting the NewCon Festival in Nashville, Tennessee from November 6th through the 8th.
Jackson’s band, 100 Monkeys, will be headlining the festival. The weekend includes Twilight and New Moon inspired art competitions as well as poetry and fan fiction contests. 100 Monkeys will also be part of an open jam session on Saturday, November 7th. Anyone attending the festival can bring their instrument to jam with the band for two hours.
The band will pick one lucky fan to join them on stage Saturday night during their concert at The Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville.
Award winning artist, Kelly Garrett Rathbone, (Jackson’s sister) will be one of the judges at the art competition and a panelist during the Q&A sessions over the weekend. She currently has pieces on exhibit in galleries nationwide.
NewCon’s goal is to inspire people to get more involved in the arts. The winners of the writing and art contests will get a private meet & greet with all attending cast members and have their winning pieces signed by them as well. “We wanted to do something different that inspires people to get off their couch and create something,” said Rathbone.
100 Monkeys will also host a ‘design your own t-shirt’ contest during the festival. The winning shirt will actually get printed as a limited edition and sold on the band’s website, with all of the money going to the Spencer Bell Legacy Project. Spencer was a dear friend of Jackson and his band mates who lost his battle with adrenal cancer in 2006.
www.SpencerBellMemorial.com
The weekend promises to be anything but ordinary. More cast members and bands will be announced every week leading up to the event. To make sure everyone has time to fully enjoy the festival, there are only 400 tickets
available. The Renaissance Hotel & Convention Center is the host hotel for the festival.
