Given that this is voted for by the public, are we immediately discounting the ace-but-unknown (and foreign) Tahar Rahim for A Prophet, and betting that Twilight’s Kristen Stewart will take it? We kinda are. But let’s see: the BAFTA goes to…KRISTEN STEWART. What a shock. “Wow. Thank you. I guess first I have to thank all the fans of Twilight for proving again and again to be THE most devoted and attentive fans ever. Considering this is voted, credit is due to them so thank you. To the other actors nominated, I am so blown away by you that I can’t even describe it. To be voted among you is just overwhelming. And I’d like to say hi to my family.” That’s rather a sweet speech, and one that shows awareness of the public vote; fair play.

You play Caius, one of the three powerful vampires who rule the Volturi. But we only get to see you briefly, at the end of New Moon. Is it challenging to infuse your character with all of the back story and motivations that he has when you have limited screen time?

Jamie Campbell-Bower: Well, it wasn’t difficult because there’s so much back story, particularly to the Volturi. We all knew what we were there for, we knew what we were doing. You know, the thing about the Volturi is that they’re introduced in the second film and then come the fourth book, that’s where the meatiness lies. So it’s an introduction, effectively. But I wasn’t disappointed; I knew exactly what I was going to be doing when I got the script. I’m just psyched to be involved in it.

Breaking Dawn: will it be filmed? When?”
Rosenberg and the actors declined to answer, and only said they are perfectly happy with the first three films. (They didn’t say “We don’t know yet”, they actually skirted the question…) Rosenberg said she has chosen to focus on the emotional journey of the book, and tried to replicate it in her script. This meant condensing some scenes, expanding other scenes with more action sequences. In the first movie she was very protective of her script, and felt Meyer was a strong external influence; but this time she realized Meyer was very cooperative, and a pleasure to work with.

How do you value having participated in Harry Potter?
“I’m excited. My character is the young Grindelwald, and can only say that does something very bad and steals something.

Did you see many vampire movies to prepare your character in ‘New Moon’?
I really like vampire movies but did not see them in preparing the paper. That yes, I read novels and sailed far over the internet to find out how they wanted the fans to go Cayo.
