Stephenie Meyer Novella – The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

Since we are having a Jodelle Ferland day why not talk about the book that was written about the character she played in Eclipse, Bree Tanner. This book was phenomenal! I read it in one sitting and couldn’t put it down. I really wish we had more novellas like this for other characters in the book series. If you don’t have a copy yet or know a friend that needs one you can pick up this amazing book at Amazon.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is the riveting story of Bree Tanner, a newborn vampire
first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the world she inhabits. The novella chronicles the newborn vampire army’s journey as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.

Jodelle Ferland Fan Art

Since I featured Jodelle Ferland in our first movie edition I thought I would make a fan art post of the actress as well. There are so many talented artists out there and fan art posts were always one of my favorite things on the site so I figured why not start them up again. This gorgeous piece of art is from redfill on Deviant Art. It’s like a perfect portrait of Jodelle!

Twilight Stars in Movies – Jodelle Ferland

Let’s face it there really isn’t Twilight news out there much anymore so now we just have the stars of the film to focus on. So I thought I do some posts were I spotlight movies Twilight stars have also appeared in. Each post will have the trailer, poster and synopsis for the featured film.

For the first post we have Jodelle Ferland in The Cabin in the Woods. In Eclipse she played vampire Bree Tanner and in Cabin she plays zombie Patience Buckner. This movie is one of my favorites. I have seen it a dozen times and it never gets old. If you are a Joss Whedon fan you will love it. If you haven’t seen this flick I would highly recommend it!

Five friends go for a break at a remote cabin in the woods, where they get more than they bargained for. Together, they must discover the truth behind the cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again.

The movie The Cabin in the Woods can be purchased at Amazon.

Below is the official Synopsis:

Girl Fight follows the story of 16-year old Haley Macklin (Jodelle Ferland) as she attempts to navigate the intimidating halls of high school and discovers getting “in” with the popular senior girls is harder than she expected.

Frustrated by feeling left out, Haley thinks nothing of it when she criticizes the seniors by posting a note about them on a social network site. But when she comes to one of the senior’s aid one afternoon, they strike up an unexpected friendship and Haley soon becomes wrapped up in being part of their crowd, straining her relationship with her parents Melissa (Anne Heche) and Ray (James Tupper) when she begins to come home late, talk back and disobey their rules. Ultimately, the girls discover Haley’s online comments about them. Betrayed, they decide to make her pay by ambushing her and beating her up on camera with plans to post the video online to gain some Internet fame. Devastated by their daughter’s brutal beating and footage of it surfacing online, Melissa and Ray put their hope into the authorities for justice in punishing Haley’s former friends to help their daughter get her life back on track in this story about peer pressure, media scrutiny and forgiveness.

Jodelle Ferland Interview

Movie Mazzupial has an interview with Jodelle Ferland.

Check it all out here.

Here is an excerpt:

MM: Once you got the role of Bree, did you have any idea just how coveted that character was and how much people wanted to be a part of the film?

JK: Wow, if everybody wanted it as badly as I did then a lot of people were disappointed. I wanted it pretty badly and honestly, I didn’t think I would get it. I try not get my hopes up, especially for something as big at that. Only the first movie had come out at that point (when I got the part) and I had just finished reading the last book and thought they were amazing, Stephenie Meyer is great writer.
