In the story of “Eclipse,” Victoria’s still bent out of shape over the death of her beau James in “Twilight,” which she blames on Bella. All of her previous attempts to exact revenge upon Edward for killing her mate failed. Not easily deterred, Victoria travels to the Seattle area and creates an army of newborn bloodsuckers, hoping that with their aid she’ll finally be able to defeat the Cullens and kill Bella. One of the first humans Victoria turns into a vampire is Riley Biers (the character didn’t have a last name in the book), described as young, handsome, and (after being turned into a vampire) with bright red eyes.

Will ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ make fans mourn Riley’s loss?

One of the most immediately noticeable (and perhaps impactful) aspects of the new The Twilight Saga: Eclipse trailer is the amount of Riley it brought.

By now, it’s no secret that the character Riley will have more than just the few seconds of face time he had in the book version of the story (much like Felix in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, but probably even more so). Not only did the character get a last name for the film (“Biers”), but Xavier Samuel was one of only two castmates whose on-set photograph director David Slade shared on Twitter (the other was, of course, Taylor Lautner). So, it’s no surprise that we saw him in the trailer. What was a little surprising was how much we got to see of him.

I for one am looking forward to seeing a little more of Riley in the film! (And it’s not just cause he’s a total hottie either, lol!!!)

The New Men of Eclipse

MTV has a new article up talking about the new men who have joined the Eclipse cast. They Talk about Boo Boo Stewart as Seth, Xavier Samuel as Riley and Jack Huston as Royce King.

The Lowdown: In the wise words of both Bette Midler and Sigmund the Sea Monster, you’ve gotta have friends. Even Victoria the bloodthirsty vampire knows this, which is why she reacts to the bummer news of Cam Gigandet’s James and Edi Gathegi’s Laurent biting the dust by finding herself a new buddy. But instead of hanging out at the mall or going to a JoBros concert together, Bryce Dallas Howard’s Victoria and Xavier Samuel’s Riley will enjoy scheming against werewolves and planning to take down the Cullen clan. Fans can look forward to Samuel — a 25-year-old actor in his first major film — serving as the leader of Victoria’s newborn army, invading Bella’s room and then having a bloody battle with Edward and Seth Clearwater.

They got Bryce in a wig I see so her hair looks like Rachelle’s. I miss Rachelle. Bryce is a good actress, I liked her in Lady in the Water. I hope she does as well as Rachelle as Victoria. On a side note, Riley is still hot, LOL!!
