Tinsel Korey Interview with Seventeen

Seventeen has an interview with Tinsel Korey.
Check it all out here.
Here is an excerpt:
Seventeen: Let’s talk all about Breaking Dawn. How does it feel to be done filming?
Tinsel Korey: It’s been such a crazy ride — such a rollercoaster. I’m still friends with everybody, and Bronson and I are working on a movie right now. So hopefully, I’ll be able to work with everybody again. It’s bittersweet that we’re sort of ending that journey and a good thing that we’re starting new ones, too.
17: Awesome. Do you have a favorite off-camera memory from being on the Twilight set?
TK: Probably during New Moon, actually. We went out to dinner with Rob and Kristen and everyone who had just got cast in the wolfpack fight. That never happened again, because after New Moon came out, going anywhere with those guys, was impossible. It was such a beautiful moment to sort of have that dinner and hang out with them before all the fandom went to another level. I just remember having that dinner and being like “Wow, this is going to be something.” I didn’t know what it was going to be, but I knew that it was going to be big.

Twilight fans are a dedicated bunch
A great achievement in itself, but it’s especially refreshing to speak with Tinsel because Twilight is her first major film. Speaking of the difference between Twilight compared to smaller projects, she says: “With a lot of the films I’ve done before, they’ve been more independent, more artistic. The publicity with a film like [Twilight] is just on a completely grander scale, compared to independent films that don’t have that publicity behind them. To me that’s probably the biggest thing.
Getting into character
She may be new to major films, but Tinsel has an impressive range of experience to share with her cast members. “We help each other,” she explains. “We definitely ask each other for advice every so often. Normally, I’m the one giving the advice!”
The advice, heat learned, has a lot to do with getting into character. Tinsel says: “For the role of Emily, I did a lot of things. I read the books and I found out a lot about her history, and the other thing I did was actually go to where the Wolf Pack are from originally. I spent time with the kids and did some acting classes with them.
“I went down to the Makah tribe and spent time with them, so I have a full grasp of where my character actually comes from.”

‘Breaking Dawn’ is coming out soon. What was it like filming that?
Bittersweet. Obviously it’s great to be back on set and see everybody, but I knew it was the last movie. I remember being at dinner and just looking around and it was like, ‘Are we all going to be friends when this is finished?’ I compare movies to summer camp. You have these great relationships and you bond, and then when summer ends you’re all like, ‘We have to keep in touch!’ Then life moves on and you go your separate ways.

Girl.com.au has an interview with Tinsel Korey.
Check it all out here.
Here is an excerpt:
Question: You were cast as Emily Young, the fiancée of Sam Uley over 800 other actresses. How did you react when you were told you had been cast?
Tinsel Korey: I was really excited. Especially since I thought I hadn’t done well on the audition. But I’m also my toughest critic.
Question: The character, Emily is scarred from a previous incident with Sam Uley; can you talk about the time you spent in make up preparing for your role in the Twilight Saga movies.
Tinsel Korey: We had different make up teams for the different movies. For New Moon the make up took three – four hours on the day; because we had two test days. For Eclipse they had to do the make up on set and try to match the first teams job, so it ending up taking eight hours, then five hours, then they got it down to three hours. Then in Breaking Dawn they had a new type of scar material, and it only took two hours. It is quite a process for sure.

Here is an excerpt:
What do you think fans can expect from the upcoming movies?
Tinsel Korey: We definitely stick to the books, and so it’s not like all of a sudden Bella picks Jacob in the end, like, ‘Surprise.’ What you sort of read in the books is what you’ll see in the movie, but I haven’t seen a cut of it yet. The people who have, the people who are behind the scenes have said that it looks amazing. So, I’m excited.
How was it working with the wolf pack for a final time
Tinsel Korey: Yeah. Like I said, it was bittersweet. It was the last movie, and there was a point where we were all having dinner and I said, ‘Are we still all going to be friends?’ That’s just the reality of this business. It was amazing though. We had a fantastic location, and so it was very bittersweet to do the scenes.
